The TP 52 - 2025 SimonB - 52 for 2025 - Week 5 - Snappers

The second photo is definitely defining where not to dig / where to be careful when digging, it is indicating services underground.
I think the BT gives it away as to which one ;)

Hahaha, I know! :ROFLMAO: I probably should have spent more time framing the shot. There were plenty of markings for water and gas too.

Yep, I'm with Tim, the second one is less graffiti and more about information. Having said that, your chosen image suits the theme well. I like how the graffiti paint choice almost matches the bin at the end of the fence. Good leading lines.

At least they had the thought to colour co-ordinate the "artwork"

I rather like the second image of the pavement, as it tells a story.

Yep! Don't dig here!

The first is very well executed - lovely composition.

Thanks!

I like your chosen shot. The composition is good.

Thank you, I spent a bit more time on that one than the other shot.

Yep - nice shot of horrid stuff!

I agree not artistic at all!

Good shots. Simon. I think you chose the right one, although I like your thinking regarding the second shot as graffiti.

Thanks Simon :)

It was tricky as this morning was the only opportunity to go out and try and get a picture. I wanted to use my drone and make sure all was in order after it had an accidental meeting with the side of the house a couple of weeks ago, thankfully all was well with the drone.

It was very cloudy this morning and the picture needed some heavy uplifting from Lightroom to turn a washed-out shot into the one you see now. It was a shame that I didn't grab the "golden hour" but it was cloudy and very very cold on the beach so I didn't hang around, plus the wind was starting to pick up so it was probably for the best that the drone landed before another mishap.

That'll probably be it for sunshine today!

Glad everything's still in working order and producing nice photos!

We went for a long walk yesterday along the coast and came across this unusual pipe sticking out of the sand dune heading into the sea. I couldn't tell if it was turned on or not but perhaps this is why we have rising sea levels! Also found a strange object on the beach which I later found out is called a mermaid's purse, from googling it seems to suggest that it is an egg sack from a skate which is a ray.

Quite a nice day out really.

An interesting day indeed. Did you put your ear to the pipe? You might have heard water rushing, or talking from the evil Bond villain lair for which this pipe was providing air.

I think you picked the right shot - looks like a lovely day for it.

Good eye Shug, I like how the protruding section with the tap continues the line of the hill behind it.

Good stuff... Dogfish do egg sacks like that too.

An evil lair! I never thought of that!

Thanks, it was a really nice day

I have to admit that was a fluke but it does add to the picture nicely.

Yes, that's a great shot, colours and composition and intrigue all in one.

Thanks, it was a very strange find.

Ah you learn something every day :)

I like the rusty metal against the background it's such a juxtaposition

Thanks very much, I would love to know what it’s for.

Two lovely shots Simon.

Thank you
