I reprocessed six raw files today, experimenting with a new workflow which used DXO PhotoLab for raw conversion to TIFF, Lightroom for post processing to 1300 pixel high JPEG, and Topaz Sharpen AI applied to the JPEGs. The raw files were from a 12 megapixel small (1/2.3") sensor FZ330 bridge camera, and the images were cropped in Lightroom as shown below. The hardest crop, for the red mite, produced a crop just over 1500 pixels high, from which the 1300 pixel high JPEG was produced, so this was getting close to a 1:1 crop. That is a big ask for a small sensor camera.

The body of the red mite was around 1mm in length. The globular springtail was around 2mm in length, head and body. Some members will have seen previous renditions of these two images, and possibly others of these six.

The 1300 pixel high versions of these images are in this album at Flickr.
