Soft Skin Tones / Bright colours in Lowlight photos

Hi All

I have an event tonight in a bar where there is very low light. They are wanting the editing done the same as the previous photographer. Looking at his photos, I have the right kit to produce similar images (24mm 1.4 / Full frame)

However I believe the previous photographer editing is what makes the photos what they are (impressive)

Would anyone be able to help me with how they might have achieved such results? I am not 100% confident when it comes to editing my images within Lightroom.

Looking at the light (and I am no means an expert here) there is a strong hard shadow from the right girls ear and left girls nose. It looks like a blend of ambient (bar background) and hard (small) light source above camera. Also thinking about the light fall off going down the frame. So in short, I am going with a small flash, not bounced above camera...
