I got quite a few shots i'm happy with which surprised me being the first time i have tried shooting planes. These are the best of the day. Most are pretty heavily cropped, i need a longer lens.

Harsh as you like please. :D

Pretty good selection. Some of the Red Arrows are good and bloody well done on No 13! I've never managed to time the pass that well. Must have been a v fast shutter speed.

Well done for shooting aircraft for the first time, I would be very happy with them. 3,9 and 12 stand out for me.

Hi Bass

What lens was you using and what settings. I too went to the same airshow but my pics are no where near this good. Well done.

Cheers guys.

I read up on a few threads on here before i went and used settings based on the advice given.
I was using 1/160th for the choppers, 1/320th for the prop planes and 1/1000th to 1/2000th for the fast jets.

The lens i was using was a 70-200 f4. I would love something a bit longer, but i haven't really put much thought into what as it will just be a pipe dream until i can afford it.

Was this in manual mode?

A great first attempt and a very good set. Photo 7# is the best for me. Good smoke trail effects in the second set too.

Sorry, didn't realise there was an image size limit, thought the forum would auto-resize them if there was.

Assumption is someone or others mother. :bonk:

All resized and back up now.

#7 and #9 for me based on the colours and composition. Never tried this sort of photography so hard to be too critical as it looks tough!
