Spider and grasshopper

Some more bugs from my short trip to Hong Kong. Not very pleased with the result but glad to see bugs again.

1. Spiny orb-weaver - Gasteracantha cancriformis - This is a beauty and it was tangled on the tree branch and I had to hold my camera above my head in order to get a shot. Every time I managed to take a shot, it ran away then I went somewhere else and came back a while later to get other shot. Unfortunately, it was very difficult to get the right focus and frame at the same time but this one shows some of the detail of this little thing and I found it so pretty.

Thanks Nick I love #7 as well and didn't notice the ant when I took the shot but it turned out quite funny as the grasshopper wanted to hop away and acted like it tried to hit the ant

Nice photos, I think the first is very similar to this one I saw in Colombia I wonder if they are the same species (sorry for hijacking but I thought that the coincidence was quite strange).
