Depends how long you're gonna keep it for, and whether it's out of date or not, if it's chrome, colour or mono.
B&W film will keep for a good long while anyways and is less affected by time as long as you keep it cool. If it's OOD then freezing is probably just extra insurance.
Colour film goes off quicker and if it's going to go past the expiry date then freezing is supposed to keep it fresher longer.
Chrome goes bad the quickest of all but again, providing you keep it cool it should be good right up the expiry date. If it's going to go out of date then freezing may help.
Just make sure that if you freeze anything you make sure it's in an airtight container or bag as moisture ingress will get onto the film.
I think a lot of the whole 'freezing film' came from long ago when batches of film had slight differences in colour response and ISO sensitivity, so when you got a batch, you bought big so you could rely on the film being the same from sheet to sheet or reel to reel.
How many camera shops do you go in where the film is like Beejams?
