Tawny Mining Bee

Found about a dozen holes in my lawn after this one. Here's one of them:

The odd thing is I saw a load of very similar holes last week in Bradgate Park, and I'd never seen them before...then a week later I find them in my own garden!
 
Thanks for posting these pictures. I have a similar little mound on my lawn and assumed it was an ants nest. I also noticed an unusual bee flying around the garden - thanks for educating me!
