Hi All,
I'd like to introduce a new non-profit project that my team have set up, and give you a chance to get involved and help us do as much good as possible.
The British Photography Awards or 'Toggies' is a new kind of photographic prize that uses the power of photography to directly help the world. Half charity fundraiser, half regionally based UK photography prize, we are already live and doing a bucket load of good for some of the most important causes.
We have ten categories to enter, so year on year, we can build up a fairly comprehensive picture of the UK in all Her beauty. We work with a wide range of charities, our judges are all UK based industry professionals, our prizes scale with the competition's popularity and we have an ever-growing network of affiliates and supporters who are keen to help the awards grow organically, from grass roots. This lets us maintain our ethical model, keeping our marketing costs down and maximises charity funds raised. Finally, each year we will hold the awards show in a different UK city so as to be as national and non-centralist as possible.
Of particular interest to many of the members here will be our Ambassadors Scheme, which is aimed at fostering & supporting (emerging and established) UK photographic talent, helping charities and lending a sense of community where work can be published & ideas can be exchanged with likeminded people. Should you be interested in becoming a British Photography Ambassador, or to learn about the various benefits please find out more details about this HERE.
We have received such a positive showing of support from so many forward-thinking people that recognise the value of this kind of work, especially in such uncertain times. Like I say, it is a brand new model and unlike anything else in the world, and I would very much value your input on it. Additionally, should you feel you can contribute to the project, directly or indirectly do send me a message. I'd love to hear from you, the more the merrier! So much of this process is collaborative and the more people I talk to, the wider the reach of the project becomes.
Nobody on my team is set to gain financially from this posting, we are volunteering our time to the project, and it has been made with the TP Admin team's blessing.
((additional note: we have recently agreed partnerships with both The Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts and Help for Heroes who will both be added to the site next week!))
Thanks for your time today, have a look at the link (below) - looking forward to hearing from you all,
Warmest,
Hugo Donnithorne-Tait
