I reccied this tree two weeks ago during a Friday trip up to Malham, the conditions werent ideal as it was during midday I went up to have a look, but after days of crap weather, there was a potential break in the rain and it was last Saturday I decided to have an early morning start up to Malham, 3.00am, bleary eyed and somewhat tired, but still managed to get there!

Anyways, I wasn't disappointed! It didnt rain and we did have a reasonable sunrise, even though in Summer the light goes really quickly! Sure it would have been nice to have more clouds in the distance, but you cant have everything!

It was worth the early start. That`s beautiful.

Crikey, great landscape shot. I love the golden light revealing the pitted texture of the foreground rocks. There is a real sense of scale and dimension to this shot. Superb. Did you use any grad ND's?

a good shot, i love the splashes of light on the rocks leading in. I wonder whether a step to the right might have ticked the composition box more wholeheartedly, but rules are there to be broken, and I do like it as it is!
Well worth getting up for at that time and the effort involved in getting there. A shot I would be very happy to have in my collection.

Yea, love that, really nicely done. Definately worth the early start. You have some great colours in the foreground.

Fantastic, cracking light, great depth, and textures.

No hdr at all, shot using a nd 0.3 and 0.9 nd grad. Andy. Thanks!

Really nice photo, remember been up in that area as a kids (y)

Thank you for the kind comments, much appreciated

That really is beautiful.....Well worth the planning.

Lovely light, nice one - I'd find a lower POV would've helped the image more by making the tree a greater feature than it is, it would've flattened the distant landscape and in turn helped boost the floor to ceiling impact of the main focal point
