looking for a new tripod as mines faulty, anyone got any recommendations? thanks

^ all of the above.

However, without knowing exactly what you need, I'll say that I have a 3 Legged Thing Brian 2.0 and I'm pretty happy with it. It's not too heavy to carry around all day, and it's nice and sturdy too.

Tripod for what?

Studio? Landscape? Heavy? Lightweight? Camera weight? Budget?
mostly landscape and preferably lightweight to attach to my camera bag. any price is fine as long as its not ridiculously expensive

I've had a Redsnapper tripod for about 13 years. Has took some abuse too but still works. I added a 3LT Travis about 6 years ago for something a bit lighter and I easily use that one the most. I do have big spikes on it though but it doesn't move once pushed into the ground.

About a year ago, the grip on the thumb turn for the Arca clamp split. I emailed for a new bit of rubber and they sent me a new clamp FOC.
