Unable to see images after LR upgrade to catalogue

When I click on an older catalogue (more than about 6 months old) LR CC automatically upgrades them to a new catalogue.
Now I'm unable to see the images.

I've checked preferences to make sure it's opening the new catalogue but all I see is a blank screen for each image.

Any pointers please to help me overcome this.

Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing.
 
Was your catalogue updated on the last major LR update?

Do you work with just one catalogue?
 
When I started quite a few years ago I just worked with one. Lateley I decided to start a new one each year.
It's the old, larger one with 14k images that's the problem.

So when I want to go back and re-edit an old image it's a problem.

so when I went into open catalogue and clicked on the old catalogue it won't open it unless you click on the updated version. I do that and when it opens in LR the images are all there but the screen is blank.

Sorry my MX keys takes a screen shot but won't paste it as it has been taken over by someting called gamebar. I need to get rid of this.

Just to be clear. In the Library module all the folders in the old catalogue are showing with no question marks?
 
The last suggestion in this link (re Helper.lrdata) may help. If you are nervous about deleting that file, save a copy.

If this doesn't work the solution is usually on Lightroom Queen somewhere. If not, Adobe technical help.
