Waterfalls near Hampshire

Does anyone know where the nearest large waterfalls are to Hampshire? I am guessing I am going to have to go to Wales and do some hiking?

I found quite a few on wikipedia and google, but all are up north and a good days driving away.

Are there any (decent sized) ones on the south coast?

Only accessible when the tide is out though.

I have been having a good look around, but I really cant find anything that fits the bill close to home. I feel a weekend away coming along

i dont know of anything substantial down this way to be honest..

i can only offer one in the lake district: Aira Force Waterfalls

Welsh Wales and the Derbyshire Peak District do good waterfalls...

I don't know of any decent ones in our area I'm afraid. I work for Ordnance Survey so rest assured I've searched the data . We recently took a trip up to Wales which are the closest I know of.

Not really a proper waterfall as it's a little too small, but if you just want to practise your techniques then the cascade at Virginia Water (nr Junction 3 M3) is worth a look. (The people in the top left corner give an idea of the scale)

I was thinking of poping up there tomorrow with the dog but the forecast is awful and there is no worse place to be than the top of the plateau in bad weather.

There's a similar, though slightly higher one at Bowood house near chippenham.

For a great waterfall then you've got Pistyll Rhaedr near oswestry. I think they filmed a timotai hair shampoo ad there

Brilliant views from the bottom and a path to the top with a view right down the valley. Car parking at the bottom and a good tea/cake shop.

Plus you get the chance of the deceptive shot
