Hello, my question is What camera would you recommend for £100?

As I need a camera that has a nice zoom and compact and can good photos optical zoom.

I am going to watch All Elite Wrestling at Wembley Stadium 90,000 seats on August 27, and I am sitting in the middle second tier of the stadium. So need a camera which is suitable.
My spending limit is roughly £100.

Any help appreciated

It is not just the cost of the camera but add in the memory card as well with a decent GB of memory and decent write speed as well. Then possible a spare battery would not go amiss either. Then consider the amount of light needed for a half decent photo in the auditorium. Just another point is make sure you are allowed to photography in there anyway. A lot of venues don't allow photographs to be taken. Check the wembley web site about photographing first

Oh yes, I didn't notice that, sorry.

You might try putting a request in the 'Items Wanted' forum. Someone might have a no-longer-used, half-decent SLR they don't want sitting on a shelf.

to shoot indoor sports to any usable standard from that distance from the action, you'll need to spend a lot more than £ 100. Use your phone. Sorry to be the bearer of an unpleasant, but realistic truth.

A dSLR and suitable lens may be considered 'too professional' looking and not get past the security guards whose definition of a pro camera is a 'big looking lens'.

You may be 80 - 100 seating rows from the ringside.

And one from Wembley for Brian Coz Horizons whilst waiting for the interval to finish . A long way from the stage, was glad of the big screens…IMG_9890.jpeg

These are merely electronic keepsakes of a particular holiday or long weekend, and have no technical merit whatsoever.

Send me the £100 and I'll recommend. :D

Seriously, it has to be 2nd hand, for that price. andrewc has good advice. It is possible to get a 'professional' looking camera in to a sports venue, I've done it a few times . For personal use. But you need awareness of rules, luck and a bit more to succeed.

You have a week to do good research and buy a camera. Good luck.

If you want a cheap camera, go round the charity shops. You may be lucky, as I was, with this Fujifilm SL300, for which I paid £5...

Don't be put off by people claiming you need to spend a fortune to get pictures - if all you want is some memories of the event, something from a charity shop may be just the ticket,

And to learn how to use it. Auto mode will probably want to use flash which won’t work. Probably have to shoot in a manual or semi automatic mode, flash turned off, iso turned high, small number f/stop etc

Hello here is copy of rules for bringing a camera in to Wembley Stadium .

Under the prohibited items page:

  • Large-bodied cameras and camcorders
Hello AndrewC which mean exactly what? I have bridge camera but am worried that it is too big or jobsworth says not allowed in.
Any thoughts what camera could be allowed in?

You could get a second hand D90 and a 55-200 lens in usable condition for about £100. But the pictures you get will be darker, noisier and probably overall crappier than anything you see in a magazine (taken much closer using better kit by someone who has had a lot of practice). Getting good pictures is hard. You might spend more time messing about with the camera than enjoying the sport. I'd watch the wrestling and get a magazine/dvd that covers the action afterwards.

But you could get a camera anyway. They can be fun.

What I need is something that meets the vague rules of wenbley stadium?

Coming to an event held by a third party?

Although Wembley is owned by The Football Association, we do not host all the all events there. For example, the Carabao Cup Final, Play-Off Finals, non-football sports events and concerts are not FA events

The owners of these events may have their own list of prohibited items, which override the list above. Such lists will be communicated direct to ticket holders for these non-FA events.

Hello, I have a Fuji bridge camera.

Would that be OK? Or is it too professional for the rules of Wembley Stadium ?

Farhan, I doubt anyone here could give you a definitive answer to your question. You'll just have to take your chances, I'm afraid.

I would take my chances on a Panasonic TZ60, if the lighting is good, the results should be OK.
Good stabilisation, good zoom, and generally very good results, especially for the price.
great idea, even models back to the TZ30, which I still have and use.

Hello, I will be attending All Elite Wrestling All in Wembley Stadium next Sunday 27th august. So what type of camera is allowed in?
If members on the forum have been to Wembley Stadium, what type of camera have then taken inside, if possible make and model.

I have a Fujifilm s9400w bridge camera and wondering if it is too big to allowed in?

Any help appreciated.

Hello, Yesterday I left my house with my friend, and we took 2 buses to Wembley Stadium. We noticed that people on the bus were wrestling fans.
They let my camera in!

We walked to the stadium after getting off the bus. Furthermore, we got the right section purple zone, and noticed that people were taking photos with a lady with an MJF sign which said "MJF is my baby" we initially thought why. Once inside, we googled and it was MJF's mum.
WE got 2 tee shirts. I paid £30.
Then we sat in our seats.

Firstly Tony Schiavone thanked everyone, but Jeff Jarrett, Karen, Satnam Singh and Jay Lethal arrived and disrespected Big Daddy Giant Haystack.

Then Paul Wight (the Big show, WWE) and Grado and Anthony Ogogo sorted it out.
Firstly fight was MJF and Adam Cole, Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis) for the Ring of Honour tag titles. The crowd shouted "Aussies w******s".
MJF did a kangaroo kick and Cole and him the double clothesline and won.

Then Hook vs Jack Perry for the FTW title. It was nice and Hook won back his title.

Then CM Punk Samoa Joe it was Punks real world title (he was suspended) and a new champion, and he said I am the champion. At one stage, both wrestlers started to imitate Hulk Hogan. Punk won.

Next was Bullet Club Gold (Juice Robinson and Jay White) and Konosuke Takes***a (with Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, and Don Callis) VS The Golden Elite (Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi and "Hangman" Adam Page) it was all because don Callis turned on Kenny Omega. It was a nice fight.

Then my friend and I went for food chicken tenders and chips £9.50 each and coke from the bar was £4.50.

Whilst we got out food, FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) (c) defeated The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) tag title fight was going on it was top fight and eventually FTR won with the Shatter machine.

Then the stadium Stampede Eddie Kingston, Penta El Zero Miedo, Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta), and Orange Cassidy (with Alex Abrahantes) defeated Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, and Wheeler Yuta), Mike Santana, and Ortiz. It had fewer people than orignally advertised. As Penta brother Rey Fenix has Visa problems. It was violent, and at one stage Moxley looked like a hedgehog as he sharp pieces of wood in his head. Orange Cassidy eventually dipped his in tape and the glass like and punched Castagnoli and pinned him.

Then womnes title 4 way Saraya Toni Storm, Hikaru Shida (c) and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.(dentist) Saraya came out with whole family to we will rock you by queen. Toni Storm to god save the king . Toni Storm took by accident Saraya mom which the friends not trust each other. Saraya won. The crowd liked a home winner.
Then Darby Allin and Sting VS Swerve Strickland and Christian Cage (with Prince Nana) it was nice and good to see sting live. When tried to put someone though a table, it took 2 goes. Strickland ended up in a closed coffin and his team lost.

Then Will Ospreay (with Don Callis) VS. Chris Jericho (with Sammy Guevara). firstly Jericho's metal band Fozzy played above the entrance ramp Judas Jericho's entrance music. The crowd were in 2 mind as Ospreay is englsih but Jerciho was a good guy. It was a nice fight and Ospreay won.

Then 10 Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) defeated House of Black (Brody King, Malakai Black and Buddy Matthews) (c) (with Julia Hart) for the Trios title. It was fun, the acclaimed rapped about stuff including prince Andrew. Gunn was looking good and the Accalimed 2 mike drops and 2 arrivals to fisnsh off king to win.

Then MJF (c) Adam Cole for the AEW title. It was a top fight and at one stage the referee took a panama Sunrise there was a double pin but they both wanted to carry on. Roderick Strong low-blowed MJF and Cole tried to pin MJF. MJF thought about an NFL style dynamite ring but changed his mind. Cole did not title to hit MJF, but MJF stayed champion.
