Yes
I had a great day with my camera, went down to the shore and took quite a few photographs, played around with settings, aperture, ISO and so on.
It turned out to be a success compared to the last time I was down there.
So I feel like I have made some progress at last, tried keeping the lens set to 35mm and found that me moving worked fine, also was brave enough to photograph a dog walker.
Even managed to get a fairly good photograph of moving water.
And now understand lots more than I did a short while ago.
Did a wee experiment with reverse lens macro, which did work, but I need more light to get it to where it should be.
Haven't used auto on the camera dial for a while now, its usually A and some adjustment to the ISO.
Will think about a tripod in the next few weeks.
Thank you to all who have helped me out.First slow water..jpg

It's sound like you had a good day, but most importantly, it sounds like you enjoyed yourself.
You'll learn more if you enjoying what you're doing, but also be prepared for those days where it does go how you planned.

I have had a few days where every thing I did was out of focus or just not right, so yesterday was great. still I need to take my time and try and compose a bit more.
