Which processing is better?

A candid pic taken a while back. Which processig is better? Or are they not processed well?

I reckon they are a bit overcooked for the subject matter, the contrast is too drastic and creates harsh dark areas on the people's features.

Only my twopenneth, I just thinking when shooting people the skin tones need to be preserved to retain their features.

This type of processing is OK if you want your photos to look like cartoons I guess

I think the first one does work better.
But overall, maybe not the best processing on either pics.
