This is my first try using high ISO on a Olympus EPL-8 (8 years old - 16mp ) camera, with Topaz Photo AI attempting to reduce some of the noise.
The light was very reduced due to the hour of shooting.

EXIF:
Shutter Speed: 1/400s
ISO: 6400
Aperture: f/4
Lens: Legacy Zuiko OM 50mm f/1.8
Manual Focus

Noise wise that looks fine to me and other than that... Well taken :D I hope you are both happy with the picture.

Very nice connection with the subject, but as she's your wife I'd hope for that! :)

Defo needs cropping to just under her left arm, which will also remove the distracting red flower; shooting from a few inches to the left would probably have removed the lighter/yellowy distraction close to her left ear

I do wonder about why the high ISO though? Had you shot this at f2 the background would have blurred more, which most people like, and that would have given you a much lower ISO; same with 1/400th, she doesn't look like she's moving, so just 1/200th would had been fine

f2 & 1/200th would have dropped the ISO 3-stops, making it just 800 ISO, which may not have need any noise reduction at all

Agreed! Its a pretty photo. Would have been better if her right hand would not have been cut off.
Thanks for the advice!

No f2 option, only f1.8 and f2.8 (manual aperture).
And the reason I didn't use f1.8 and f2.8 are the following:
First: too shallow depth of field, almost impossible to manually focus without confirmation (camera doesn't have it) while shooting at a 100mm FOV (2x M43 Crop)
And second: the use of high ISO was intentional. I was trying the software for the first time and I wanted to know what was it capable of.

I'm normally a 28/35/50mm person but I've taken a lot of pictures with a 50mm lens on my Panasonic MFT cameras.

Have fun! :D

Thank you! Regardind my FF, I usually shoot with 35mm, 50mm and zoom if needed (events and such).
Btw, this is one of the reasons I'm not looking at any Canon Mirrorless right now. Very limited lenses options, and almost impossible to find a 35mm FOV with larger aperture. On Sony, I found the Viltrox 23mm f1.4 that has a very reasonable price! :)
