Took a ride to Win Hill in the Peak District on Saturday evening. Timed it just right to get the sunset at the summit.

Went with my daughter who is 7 and she did admirably. Decided to go via Parkin Clough which is basically a stupidly steep incline which has a terrain of rocks, boulders and tree roots. Took an hour and twenty minutes to reach the top!!

Here are a few from the outing in no particular order...

The best colour in the sky was as we were leaving but knowing it was going to take us a hour or so to get back to the car we decided to leave at around 8pm. The route back was through heavily wooded areas and well, I'm a wuss. :p

Some may remember a thread from a while a go where i was just starting out with landscape photography. Hopefully i have improved a little but i am very much open to C+C.

Thanks for looking.
David.

Hi Dave

Great set of shots, I wish I lived a bit nearer it looks a great place. Your daughter did well to reach the top:clap:

Great set of images... I need to get up there soon.... I have been spending my time across from there on CarrHead Rocks, Froggate Edge etc,

A lovely part of the world, the Edale/Hope valleys. I need to get out there more often.

A great set of images. Nicely processed too. Cracking :)

Thanks. I'm never really sure how to go about processing these kind of shots so it's nice to hear they're ok.

Thanks Robin. Froggat and Calver are on my list too. Hopefully sometime soon!

Some "Excellent" shots there m8, for me the last shot is "Stunning". (y)

Typical... The one from the kid...

Haha, cheers mate.

Woops!! I've gotta be honest m8, I didn't even notice that in the title. Tell her I'm very proud of her.(y):D:D

Nice one David! Those contrails can be a PITA in the peak! You've done well, but i think Lily has outdone you! Love the subtle silhouette. Plus it looks like she may have smashed the climb with more vigour than you too

Number 2 is great, lovely carpet of heather to the left and a nice landmark to the right with rocks in the middle, superb.

Thanks Graham. I've never really paid much attention to composition with regards to landscapes, just trying to cram as much of the scene in as i could, but i slowed myself down and thought about it a little more than usual and i think it's paid off.

Amazing photos :) lovely colours. I definitely need to visit here. I only live down the road. Will take the dog with us for the walk back through the woods ;)

Personally I like #6 the best.

Great image.

Thanks. Simplicity sometimes works best. :)

Definately take the dog. I s*** my pants tbh. :D

You're lucky to live so close. I'm around 50 minutes away. Would love to spend more time around there.

I have seen a lot of photos this year with all the ?heather it looks amazing. I haven't been up there since the spring when we woke up one morning to lots of mist and thought it would be nice to drive to Castleton...going down winnats pass and through the fog. Worth the drive for them photos :)

The mist is definately on my list of pics to get. Especially from Winnats or Mam Tor.

The heather is a real site at this time of year. It graces a lot of hillsides within the Peak District.

Make the trip mate, you'll kick yourself if you don't.
