I went out on Thursday evening as I've just taken delivery of my new lens kit for my D800 (Nikon 20mm f1.8G, Tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC & Nikon 70-200 f4 VR)
I wanted to try and get a few snowy shots and while I only realy caught glimpse of snow in a couple of Castle Shots it was a cracking (if bloody cold!) evening to be out shooting in Edinburgh.

More shots on my facebook page: www.facebook.com/chrisjmitchellphotography and also my website: www.chrismitchellphotography.co.uk

All very nice. What are are your thoughts in the lenses? I am considering the Tamron or perhaps the 20 Prime with 35.

No4 & 5 are crackers (y)

1,2,3,5 are best for me....

Thanks Andrew. I love the Tamron 24-70 f2.8 VC I actually sold my version of the lens in December as I was intending to move over to primes but I decided to pickup another 24-70 and replace my 16-35 with the Nikon 20mm f1.8G for a wide. I honestly can't reccomend the Tamron enough for the price its much better value than the Nikon 24-70 f2.8 and most reviews suggest its better, the 20mm I've only been out with one evening but so far I'm really impressed, I'd say its better than my 16-35 at 20mm and its also a lot better than the old Nikon 20mm f2.8!

Thanks, will look into it some more, would also love a sigma 35 art but the tamron would be more useful for travels, events etc
