Has anyone used YouPic to show your work?

What is your opinion of the website?

I think the layout of the website is a little like 500px. When tagging photos where they were taken, the places I want are not there.

Also here's a biggie! When uploading photos on to their website, they degrade the sharpening, so they are more blurred.
I'm trying to find out why they degrade all our photos.

You can tell the difference in my image below

I doubt they set out with the desire to soften photos as an aim, it's either just poor coding or they're more interesting in saving bandwidth by cranking up the compression than maximising quality. However either way, why is irrelevant. If you're not happy with how they're handling your photos, not using them is the only option.

Was wondering about this site myself and what it had to offer, if anything!

Dave, your content is certainly sharper on 500px.

Not encouraging to go further with YouPic.

Yes it is considerably sharper on 500px.

I've asked about the 'degrading' with YouPic, but I haven't had a decent answer about it.

Though some of the other stuff looks fine! For me, just not sure I need another site to be keeping up to date with. Haven't even updated flickr recently.

500px = paid service (if going with the plus packages)
youpic = free service.

if you dont like the quality, stop using them :) simples.

personally I use both as it gets you more exposure..there are a lot of users on youpic and they all dont mind the quality so why worry.

if you want to use it as your portfolio to show potential clients, then use 500px or pixieset and pay for a service.
