OK it's US based but still interesting reading here .
Had the concern yesterday when taking shots in Stratford Upon Avon, about the ethics of photographing people & posting on the web :ponders: Do others always ask before / after taking photo's ?

Foudn the following quote from another forum for UK...not asure how true it is ? "....you are allowed to take pictures of anyone in a public place in the UK. You can even sell the pictures in an editorial context (mags papers) but you cannot use them for any form of advertising without a model release. That's the law part..."

... although his website seems to be down again.... :(

Actually you were right the first time, I was thinking of the UK version, I just never visit the front page and didn't check to see if it already existed, me being a congenitally lazy git :)

i will sort out the yank link too, will add it to the front and to links.

It's worth quickly mentioning that people have to be recogisable for these laws to be in effect.

With advertsising, you don't need to get model release forms for every single blurred person in the background. Similarly the back of someone's head won't count either.
