An unfortunate Dung Fly that has become infected with the fungus Entomophthora muscae. Infection is always fatal but the fungus alters the flys behaviour before it finally expires. The fly will land and then crawl to the highest point it can and stay fixed there until dead. The fungal spores then have the greatest chance of spreading widely and landing on a new host as they are released from the dead flys remains.

This is an in camera stack of fifteen images taken in natural light outdoors.

Adrian - very good image - which stacking software do you use - Photoshop??
Hi BillN, thanks for the comment. I didn't actually use any stacking software for the image, the stack was done entirely by the camera, I just had to choose the start point for the stack , how many images to use and the distance between images in the stack, select f stop and then let the camera do the rest of the work. It produced, in this case fifteen RAW images and a final combined jpg stack. All I did to the jpg was adjust exposure and sharpness slightly in OM Workspace, then resized in the Gimp.
