Critique required bullinachinashop's 52 for '24 - Week 40 - Candid

Some great catch-up shots.

Stand outs were the phone box and the temp gauge.

The light in the long grass shot is great - though I'd have been tempted to go with a much narrower aperture to try and get the sun a little more defined.

Straight to the point for Occupational :)

Great shot with the focus on the finger, really draws attention to the workpiece. Nice

Curious to see an electrician’s screwdriver there.

Thank you - I really like the phone box. And good advice with the long grass shot!

Thank you! Not sure what the screwdriver was for - I'll hsve to ask!

Challenging week for me - positive COVID test last Saturday so a week recovering & working from home... but managed to get out this weekend to found some very high floodwater around town... so a slightly morbid take on the people theme where I got into some deep thinking about our lives spent trying to master everything but ending up powerless to mother nature... :ROFLMAO:...must have had too many lemsips

Yep some nice images - I'm only getting a red X for the 2nd but can click through to FlickR for it :)

I seem to get that error randomly and can't work out

But thanks for the positive comments!
It's usually a file size thing. A bit daft when hosting pix off site yourself. I've raised this issue in the past and got no joy.

Like you, I went to a graveyard for this topic but you've absolutely nailed it with all four of your pictures . Excellent.

...Week 39 - Exit - Has gone AWOL but I'll be back for it.....

In the meantime, a couple of candid attempts that I'm not too embarressed to share - haven't got used to wielding a proper camera in public yet!

First one is in Alton at the start of a decent circular walk, taken with the 35mm Sony zeiss lens

Second is from our local Parkrun with the Nikkor 50mm film lens on... I had better positioned runners in other photos but focus was all wrong

Both lovely images Ross, especially #1.as it conjures up an image of an open fire with wood crackling and a warm glow..

The feller with the logs is great, I might have tried cropping for less sky for more emphasis on the person.?
No, I think the grey sky gives meaning to his actions - a story nicely knitted together pictorially

I just thought the picture and his actions has more scale with more above and in front of him. But I like getting others' perspectives

How did I miss that?! Maybe it's a portal to me taking better photos?! ;)
I rather like the framing on the second shot.
Thanks Helen !
