The idea is to list the club name, area and county it is in, any details you know, such as when and how often they meet and any contact details and/or weblinks.

many people attend these clubs and many more would like to, so a resource listing of what is available where will hopefully be a useful tool for everyone. (y)

Any for us Southerners?

how about Birmingham

The book I get as Club Sec is for the Yorkshire region of the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB), hence Yorkshire only.

However, I suspect that all other regions within the PAGB produce a similar book and these can be found in the 'Member Federations' section here http://www.thepagb.org.uk/

So pick your own area and get in touch, my experience is that they are a friendly bunch

(y) Many thanks for that link Dave, I just found the Hampstead Photographic Society via the link, and emailed them about joining them for a meeting to see what they are like.

Goodo - but if there is more than one local to you please try them all out before joining one - they do differ enormously in outlook and ages of members. Some are, IMO, very stuffy and cliquey, others much more fun

Some even have Fantastic chaps who run courses for less experienced members to learn how to take photos, not just what PP to do with the crap you've taken!!!

That is, I'm starting such a series here next week :LOL::LOL:

Lincoln Camera Club
Meet in the Cathedral Centre (go through the arch from castle square, and down the right side of the cathedral, its on your right) on a tuesday, 7;:15 for 7:30

Unfortunately I don't get to go because I work tuesday evenings. Managed to go once before I started working, and they seemed like a friendly bunch.

According to the program, they are doing a thing with studio lighting tonight, and they have regular competitions, and practical nights.

:) Battersea Photographic Society :)

We are a new club and have only been in existence for a couple of months. Originally started through facebook, the social networking site, we had our first proper meeting last week in Battersea (South London)

We haven't got any firm plans in place yet but we plan to meet on a Tuesday @ 8pm - probably fortnightly.

We don't have a website yet either - if you're on facebook search for "Battersea Photographic Society" and we have a group page there.

Or alternatively contact myself on here, or Ben, the club founder at the following address - bps_sw@yahoo.com.au

Would be good to get some more members as we are brand spanking new!!

Eddie.

If there is anything near me, I'd turn up without a doubt if there was a chance for me to play with some different lenses.

I had forgotten I had done this thread, but now its been bumped, a big shout for the Muswell Hill Photographic Society.

I attended twice before once again, daughters karate training commitments got in the way, but they were brilliant. Very welcoming and friendly. Not a huge club but well worth it for any North Londoners looking for a place.

They meet on Tuesday nights at Jackson lane centre on corner of Jacksons lane and Archway rd, right opposite Highgate tube station so transprt links are excellent, plus there is on road parking at that time of night.
