Camera Repair Recommendations

I can see, sooner or later, the value of a camera being directly proportional to its repairability and a lot more scavenging of very broken units to make working cameras. The demand is back big time judging by ebay prices but its never going to be sufficient to warrant production of new high quality lenses and shutters.

Even with the stuff that Steve (and others) does its all reliant on a dwindling supply of irreplaceable aging parts so it's going to come down to how well it can be repaired.

For guys living around Leicester:-
Have you heard of this lens repair\service Company?
True Lens Services Ltd, Glass House, Dawson's Lane, Barwell, Leicestershire, LE9 8BE.
Seems they might have the equipment to re-align the elements for my Canon 19mm lens?

Emailed them and received a reply and HUH!........."please can you confirm if your lenses are rehoused"
Well had to look up the internet and maybe "rehoused" means converted to a cine lens?

I  think it means "not in the original lens mount", I.e. converted from Canon to Exakta for example. Historically, Canon cameras had slightly thinner bodies than other brands, making their lenses easier to swap to different camera. I have an actual adapter that lets me use FD lenses on my Exaktas and still have infinity focus. Other cameras would need the lens to be effectively swapped into another makers rear end (pardon the expression :))

Edit for grammatical error

Well I told them both lenses are original and if they have the equipment (according to advert) to reset elements on my 19mm Canon for a reasonable price, it would be a useful company to have listed. Also mentioned a bit of fungus on my 20mm Fdn to be cleaned...well we will see what prices they are charging.
I can see the fungus (which I knew that was there to get the lens cheap) and it's on the element below the front, and looking on the net still can't find how to get to it for DIY

o_O:( Final reply:-
"Thank you for confirming, unfortunately we cannot help with these lenses. We can only work on the rehoused versions.
I do have the following two numbers for companies that may be able to help you"
Erm lets try the ones below.

Fixation: 02075823294

Camserve: 01323846864

Update:- Camserve replied but expensive 90 to £120 + VAT to clean a lens with fungus and to re-align elements in the lens also £90 to 120.
Found a site (youtube) on how to dismantle the front of my Canon 20mm erm but in some Asian language, and will have ago from the pictures but I'll have to buy a deep rubber pad to unscrew the lens ring (the part that usually has info on it) as the front lens bulges out quite a lot.
