Very bent and very minimalist
Once I'd had this idea, I became hooked on it.........Yep - both boxes ticked!
I was quite pleased with the outcome but I won't Carp on about itFishing for compliments?
Oh alright then. nice idea and good isolation.
Cheers Ryan, old sea fishing hooks from a trip to the coast many years ago. Came in handy for this weeks subject.Good idea and like the setup/ processing. Hopefully a good catch...
Straight - lovely pic, I like the perspective
Bent - agreed with a good set up & nice lighting for it
Both great pics for the themes
I can’t compete with your puns, so I’ll just say nice photo
Many thanks all, grateful for the comments.Good detail and colour on the hook, looks good against the BG
Ticks all the boxes.. nicely lit too.
Thank you folksLoving that straight shot Keith!
Nice one. Looks kinda familiar but probably isn't
Like the details on the arch, does look a bit familiar though nothing wrong with that
I agree with the familiarity but I think there are lot of bridges that look like this one. Ticks the box nicely.
Thanks all, I have posted an image of this bridge before, further back prior to the Spring growth and on a dull day.Yup that works!
Being slightly sad about such things, there something funny with the brickwork on the RHS of the arch itself. Funny, but not in a good way.
Yes indeed it was a B&W from further back with more road in the foreground, that was a cloudy cold day earlier in the year.Nicely composed. Maybe the previous was BW. I imagine it that way.
Bent - Well lit with a nice black background and definitely minimalist. I might have given it a little more room at the top to emphasise the fact that it's hanging.
Arches - Fits the bill and some interesting detail.
Weather - Some good shots, I get why you picked the first one with the bright clouds, but personally I think the wedge of sky in the fourth is really striking.
Thanks chaps and I agree about the 4th image, I was really pleased with the way it came out and I could have easily pick that as the first one too.Your chosen one is nice, but I too would have gone with the final one. I would have flipped it Left - Right and cropped a bit off the top.
But your chosen shot is a lovely scene
Yep - all that about shot 4
Thanks folks, it was a very good day for taking pictures of weather so I had plenty of options.Agreed about #4 but the chosen shot has better light and colour for me.
Thanks BobGreat weather shots. I' m going with the monos!
Thanks for the feedback KellWEATHER: I think I prefer your chosen one, though I'm torn between that and 4 for composition.
Where I think 4 loses out slightly is that it's not contrasty enough for me. I do like B&W images (whether they're mine or someone else's) to have a real dynamic range from pure black to bright white.
Many thanks PaulGreat work!
Thanks buddyGreat shot indeed.
