It’s a Felt and yes time trial/triathlon bikes can be pricey especially since they’re rather specialised and you wouldn’t want to pop to the shops on it ! But then i guess photography can be an expensive hobby too. I took quite a few pictures at this event and couldn’t place why i chose this one but the pink overshoes may have been the subliminal reason.

Week 20: parallel

I have a few stringed instruments at home so these were my first thought for this topic. I've been experimenting with different angles, perspectives and dof, but in the end was happy with the straight on shot.

Week 21: metal with monochrome

I'd also taken some shots of my banjo for the previous week's parallel theme but in reviewing them felt the extensive metalwork and limited tones better suited this topic.

Thank you. As a beginner the beauty of digital is the ability to experiment and check the results instantly. I took lots of pictures to find one i liked; glad others like it too.
 
They're both very well taken but if I had to pick one it'd be No.2 :D Well done.
 
Certainly hidden - not sure about treasure - do you know what it marks - is it water, or electricity? Or gas even?? Which I guess are treasure.

Solid fits the bill. Discarded tanks of some sort? Industrial feel to them.

It’s water, which after the hot spell feels valuable. Although not in the conventional sparkly sense !

Yes they are old tanks I think but they looked solid in the sense I wouldn’t want to drive into them or try and lift them.
 
Glad you added some commentary Simon, I didn't know what I was looking at for your Treasure shot. The old tanks certainly look solid to me.
 
Nice soft light on Treasure.
Tanks fit the bill for me although I feel I might have got lower or cropped some of the background away.
 
Week 24 beginning with P.
Managed to shoot a few examples for consideration:
Pink flowers:
 
The Pier was obvious so went underneath to capture the rusty frame. I added some exposure to reduce the shadow and bring out the texture but this has blown out the sky but maybe in a good way to enhance the subject ?

 
Palm. Liked the contrast with the white building and the narrow windows echoing the trunk.

 
Week 25: snappers choice.
I liked the contrast of the rope and knot against the blue tarp.

Good shots Simon, I'm wondering if the (P)ier shot would look better in b&w? It might take away from the blown out sky.

I like the contrast you've created between the rope with hints of blue in it and the blue tarp. I might have cropped in more to the knot though.
 
There are some nice textures in the palm.
I agree, the colour contrast on your snappers choice makes for a pleasing image.
 
I like the pier shot and I'd leave it with the large blown areas. I think he fact that a lot of it is blown makes it a more interesting picture. My eye is drawn along the pier and there is enough transition between blown and not. I'd leave it just as it is... but I might also try a B&W version too :D
 
The Pier would have been my choice, mainly because that "Palm" looks to me to be a tree fern.

Like the tarp and ropes.

Week 27: post
Seaside walk in Cromer so went for this lamppost silhouetted against the sunset and pier.
 
Week 28: water. Spent a week canoeing the River Wye. Didn't bring the camera for obvious reasons so this was a simple phone pic from the trip.

Week 29: handle(bar)s and technique dappled.
The inspiration for this came during a bike ride round the Suffolk lanes so another phone pic.

Week 30: dusty. Rather poor pic (other than being on topic) having got anxious about falling behind in the challenge.
 
Week 32 Internal: some architectural detail from the interior of a church porch
 
Week 33: square. What else but a rubic cube echoing the week number.

Nice catch up Simon - I particularly like the pier sunset shot. I'm a sucker for sunsets and piers, so what;'s not to like?

I did do a small edit on both pics. I cloned a distracting seagull out of the sunset sky and intensified the colours on the cube. I used A3 watercolour paper as the base for the cube to reflect some light and eliminate the distraction of the worktop it was sat on.
