First flower macro attempts

I know the rose isnt the best but welcome all remarks. Photo newbie uploading the best ive done in the last year to see how to make the next steps.

Cracking set!
For someone just starting out you've nailed them!
The focus and dof are perfect and the colours are stunning.

cheers. Used reflective card for the first time on the pink rose. Amazed at how much difference the different colours make!

Three very well executed shots. I really like the flower under the ice.

However, if you’re going to shoot flowers I’d suggest you don’t use flowers with unsightly brown and withered petals. The first shot is very well taken with nice depth of field and blurred background but is really let down by those withered petals, it really takes away from a very good shot.

indeed, i didnt notice at first that the flower was so messy, my local florist will definately benefit from my macro lens!

I buy my wife flowers from Tesco and Asda, both pretty cheap and she's happy, but little does she know I'm actually buying them to take photo's of. A real win win situation.
