weekly Flyphots 52 for 2022: - Week 52 'Showcase'

Lovely pic Jim and it looks like a great place to photograph.

Thanks Pete, it is a lovely little medieval town with plenty of little back alleys etc to explore.

The strong shadows create some nice lines. Well spotted and composed.

Nice! The light and shadow work great together, and the funnel of leading lines behind the figure add a lot.

Thanks Nick, much appreciated

The harsh light has created some striking shadows. He almost looks like he is dancing :)

Thanks, it was one of those moments where I just had the camera out and it seemed perfect.

My 'Scape' for this week is a landscape (or maybe, seascape?). Not particularly inspiring due to the weather conditions but, it's a pretty rare sight to see paragliders searching for lift along the local cliffs, so there is a bit of interest (along with the half mast flags to mark the death of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II)

Beautiful scenery Jim. I think you've captured a great shot.

Nice! I like the way the curve of the sea is echoed by the waterline in the sand, and then my the cliffs and buildings, and I like the activity, the people boats and paragliders. Lot's going on, and the half mast flags have their own story too.

Thanks Nick, lovely comments.

Lovely shot Jim - as others have said, the paraglider certainly add something to the shot, and there's so much going on here - the more you look at it the more you see. Great image!

Thanks Simon. Odd isn't it, I thought it was a fairly bland image, just goes to show that the perceptions of others can be vastly different from your own :D

You made the most of the conditions by including some points of interest. Fits the bill nicely.

week 37 Looking Up

Here's Alfie looking up at a bird in a tree (he LOVES birds, especially chasing them!). Mobile phone shot

That a fab photo of the little pooch Jim :)

What a great shot Jim, and you got the tech in there as well.

Thanks Bill, I already had the tech but I agree that it would have worked :)

That would have been another great option for shadows. The light/shadow play is great.

Week 38

Electric(al) Blue

And here's the original ....

The transformers, and associated infrastructure always look like a robot army. Although in same places they are themed to blend a bit, I seen some in land around Disneyworld in Florida that are shaped like Mickey's ears. What does it look like without the "colour pop"?

Just added the original for comparison.

Definitely works better with the "colour pop", doesn't have the same sinister look.

Thanks, that's why I used that one, plus I had the idea for 'electric blue' on one of these cabinet things pretty soon after the theme was announced, I just wasn't sure what I would use for the image until I got to the substation this morning.

I like the perspective and your electric blue idea integrated into this shot gives a great image.
