weekly FlyPhots 52 for 2023 - Week 42 'Forgotten'

Wow - that's a great shot Jim. The light is phenomenal, and the contrast between the colours on the two horses is fabulous, and I like what you've done with the grass colours, but which leaves the flowerhead visible. It's an absolute cracker.

Thanks Simon, really appreciate the kind words :)

That's a lovely image. The desaturation makes the contrast more prominent. I really like this.

Adore this shot, the processing works wonderfully to make the horses even more beautiful than they already are. Would be on my wall if mine, really classy shot.

Week 22 - Irregular

The regularity of nature arranged in an irregular way ...

Man-made regularity arranged in an irregular way (my first batch of spring honey, harvested this weekend)

Wow, thanks Roger.

Super wall shot Jim ;)

Lovely shot of the flowers on the wall - nice coinciding the light and the focal point.

For a "product shot", the irregularity (intentional) of the jars is quite noticable. Likely to set a few teeth itching I think!

That's a belter of a irregular shot Jim great colours plus the wall is irregular, love the honey shot and bet it's lovely.

Cheers Dave

Thanks, the idea was to make the jars irregularly spaced to make it look a bit more 'natural' :);)

Love the daisies(?) in the soft light. Good shot Jim.

Lovely picture and edit of the horses and the wall, great light for both

Week 23 - Rubbish + tech Composite

People make some fun things from rubbish (mobile phone image)

I'm on a catch up, so here are weeks 25, 26 and 27

Sound - i've just finished an evening class bricklaying course and here is a pier I built (well, a few courses of it anyway), it was a 'sounds structure

Snappers choice - I saw this leaf whilst walking the dog and thought the colour contrast and water droplets just looked fantastic, hope you like it too

Watching - here are some young cows who are currently in the field across the lane from our house, they seem to like 'watching' the world go by

Brick pier looks good - nice diagonal composition, cows are good, nice eye contact and arrangement with the eyes above and below the top bar of the fence.

The leaf is fantastic though! As you say, colour, droplets, composition, is all spot on. Nicely done!

Great catch-up set Jim, I particularly like the leaf shot.

Weeks 27 - 31 Catching Up + tech Macro

I've recently had carpal tunnel release surgery (and another round due in September for the other hand!) so getting out and about has been a bit problematic. Hopefully I can keep up to date now.

Torn/Ripped + tech macro. A branch from a tree ripped off in the wind

Unsightly. some neighbours have moved out and left these unsightly rubbish bags on the street (too lazy to take them to the tip, obviously!)

Pretty. The sweet peas etc are looking pretty in the garden this year.

Windows. Windows above windows above windows.

Abandoned. I've abandoned this bird box on the side of my workshop - I really should look to repair it

A good catch up set

Thanks Paul, i've recently had carpal tunnel surgery so getting out has been a bit difficult

Yep - nicely caught up.

Well done getting back up to date - I think the bins are most fitting for the theme, nicely converted to B&W, and the bird box is quite interesting. Good work bringing out the texture of the wood and the fence, danger is, if you fix it, the birds may not want to nest in it as it smells of human again??
