Hadrons 2552- Week 5 - Snappers Choice

Week 3 - Graffiti and Tech - Wide angle.

Living and working in a very small rural village this week has been somewhat of a challenge for me but fortunately I remembered seeing this little shed in a local(ish) woodland. Shot at 10mm to try and get a bit more of the interior in shot as well as the wider scene so should cover me for the wide angle tech as well :)

That is very nice. I like the fact that the graffiti is on the inside only. Did you do anything to illuminate the interior?

Thanks. Yes I stuck a speedlight in there to try and make the interior pop a little.

That's a really effective use of flash. I'd almost be tempted to darken the exterior even more to experiment. Even though it works really well as it is.

That's a cracker. I love it. The best so far. I like the interior is lit and perfectly balanced with the outside environment.
Thanks both, I did think about darkening down the exterior further but then again I quite like the detail in it, something to ponder.

The speedlight Makes the shot.
Nice balance with the amibient,
You know what you are looking at straight away. Brill.

That speedlight is incredibly effective - shot of the week for me (so far). Really nice to see the context of where it is.

Fab shot and nicely lit :)

Week 4 - Morning Light (kinda).
With work, school run and weekend kids activities to run around morning is without fail my most hectic time seven days a week. I'd got a vague idea of the shot I wanted so I've had to shoehorn / crowbar in this attempt at recreating morning light.

A shoehorn yes - but a nicely done one :naughty:

Shoehorn or not - great photo.

Lovely light and setup but biscuits for breakfast :) . Maybe the cup could be turned to the right a bit more?

That really captures the theme.

Works very well, and as said by @AlanDorset captures the theme perfectly.
Thanks.
This for me.

I really like the shot, but the biscuits definitely make it feel like late afternoon.

Thanks, I refer you to my earlier reply “it’s never too early for chocolate Hob Nobs” :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Fantastic graffiti shot as everyone has said better than I could of.

And from your description of your manic morning schedule it looks like you've created a great shot of the morning you'd like to have?!

Week 5 - Snappers choice. I've been enjoying playing with the lights so carried that forward to this week as well. I'm also participating in another challenge elsewhere and the current theme there is shoes so this shot will kill two birds with one stone. I've also added in another shot which has an interesting history behind it. The figure was actually commissioned by its subject who happened to be one of the few decent teachers at my school 25/30 years ago. He was a history teacher with an interest in role playing games (I think that's the right term) who was diagnosed terminally ill and in conjunction with a local model maker they came up with this to raise money for his chosen charity. I think it's quite a nice little reminder.
