Maybe it was her that posted that lovely landscape set from Balmoral recently? Beginning to regret pointing out the horizon was wonky on most of them. I shall avoid driving through road tunnels for a while.Question is....is she a member?

I shall sit back and observe. We shall soon see who is a royalist and who is not!
I personally believe the time has come to retire the monarchy and disband the current unelected upper house in parlisment.
.
Not reallyThat's a nice, sanitary, term for a coup d'etat, yes?
Ooo I missed the memo on this, what time is the party and do we need to bring our own food? That's a nice, sanitary, term for a coup d'etat, yes?
Just another process.....I think you'll find it's a tad more complicated than simply "disbanding".

If the benefit scrounging, layabout, opinion crew arrive anyway.
Happy birthday to all those hard working women who didn't see 90"
I'm none of the above except perhaps opinionated. My opinion gels pretty much with Mr Jarse's up there ^ and am in agreement with Hardeep Kohli "Today might be the day to reflect upon a society predicated on entitlement. Happy birthday to all those hard working women who didn't see 90"
And the fact that she's queen makes no difference whatsoever to the fact that folk die at all different ages.
I suspect she's had better medical care than most.
Never had to work two or three jobs to pay the bills.
Never had to go hungry so her children can eat.
never had to scrimp and save and go without to give her children a half decent education.
Etc.
Etc.
I'm sure her life has it's stresses mind, I'm sure it's not been all plain sailing but all in all the chances of her reaching 90 were always going to be an order of magnitude higher than most 'ordinary' folk.

I think it's got more to do genes than anything else. Her mother was about 101 when she died IIRC?
And yet she's the only English monarch to ever do so.
Medical technology has come a long way this century.
and she hasn't sponged a single bit of it from the NHS.Medical technology has come a long way this century.

I wouldn't suggest otherwise, though since she's paid for by us technically we're paying either way.
Indeed... For everyone.
Though not everyone has such easy access.
Never had to sit for hours in Emergency waiting on medical attention.
Never had to wait weeks to visit her local surgery
and then see a tired worn out GP for 12 minutes hoping it's long enough for them to diagnose.
Never had to wait months for an appointment with a specialist.
Never had to hope her NHS trust had a doctor with the right skill set and the funding to give the treatment she needed.
Never had to wait months for a hospital bed to come free.
But then that could be said for a lot of people who've been born into money but give very little back to their own community, let alone country.
Very true, but this thread is about the Queen.
