weekly HelenC's 52 for 2024. Week 43-44 Rough & Night

Good job we have plenty of songs out there for when the best of plans go down the plug hole
Nicely adjusted :)

Nice mono Helen :)

We had an unexpected power outage at the weekend so I went for a wander round a local antiques emporium. I had been scratching my head over this one. Wasn't sure if a "fork in the road" would be a shoehorn too far?? Phone shot this time.

Very posh looking spoon Helen. Nice one :)

Did you buy it - and do you have the Spoon Bill? :naughty:

That’s a fancy spoon, I had thought of fork in road as well, nothing like a shoe horn, was supposed to be going on a glider trip today but weather has seen to that

Catching up on the entries - amazing Boardwalk shot!!

And yes, hope you bought the spoon and have enjoyed a very posh cream tea with it !

That’s some spoon. How would you keep it clean?

Thanks for the comments folks. Yes, it was quite a spoon... would hate to do the polishing!

Fab shot Helen :)

Apologies for absence recently. Last minute dash to Yorkshire for a family funeral followed by my back giving out on me... I've been unable to sit down for the best part of a week never mind take photos and sit at a computer. Fingers crossed it's on the mend...

So, a couple of homebound phone shots to catch up on what I missed. The two are probably interchangeable...

Week 36: Tools

A vintage machine but a new one for me...

Yep - two good ones and best wishes for recovery!

Niiiiice mono! My college digs were there back the early 80s :)

Is Spanish City still there? Nice walk along the causeway to St Mary's Lighthouse!

Thanks @-Oy- It is still there... nice building. Unfortunately the lighthouse that we came to photograph we found encased in scaffolding and plastic... best laid plans eh!

Nice glassy stuffs Helen :)

Loving the picture of Whitley Bay, doesn't need any more or any less, captured it right.

The Glasshouse, different areas have different reflection or transparency, makes it really interesting. Well captured.

Love your beach picture…the composition, light and reflections are great.

Beach shot is a belter.

I'm from that neck of the woods, so had my stag do in Whitley Bay.

I hadn't heard of the Glasshouse, but after a quick Google, I see it's what used to be called the Sage building. So it's interesting to get a shot that doesn't give that away.

Nice catch up Helen - beach shot is great!
Hope the back's better

Thanks for the comments folks. Hopefully back up to speed (of a donkey) now!

Week 40: Candid
Not usually my bag but had a walk on a sunny Southwold pier. Now can't decide - the first shot I like with the soft light and the second for the mood of people just mesmerised by the sea!
