Well out today, (in the pink sky and gloom!), and the camera has taken 310 shots with 75% battery capacity remaining, so that equates to 1240 possible shots on a single charge ... remarkably what Nikon claim!
Finished shooting yesterday by 2pm and this morning at 8am it is still showing 75% so it hasn't lost anything in that time.Thats good, do you know if you get battery drain while the camera is stood, i have updated firmware, got airplane mode on and its still losing 2 or 3% a day while stood, with or with out a lens on.

Thanks, think i may take it back to the dealer today, i expect some drain but feel what ime getting is excessive.
I thought this may have solved it https://photographsbypeter.com/2017...in-problem-solved-with-firmware-version-1-13/
It seems that the D500 calculates remaining charge differently to other Nikon D-SLRs and thus appears to drain batteries quicker (basically never using 100% of the battery). Some people suggest it's to do with the 10 FPS burst rate that the other cameras they compared it to doesn't have .
(and that the D850 requires an EN-EL18b to get to 9 FPS)
