Nikon D750 & D780

Bloody sheep!

A Lonk entered the shed for a show today, turned left and leapt straight at me, knocking me flat on my back. I had a camera on each shoulder and as I hit the deck I heard a cracking noise. Thankfully not the sound of skull cracking, but glass and plastic. The other camera seems to have been saved by landing on the lens hood, which now has a crack in it.

Everything seems to work as it should still. Gaffer tape should see me right! I'll also try a screen protector to hold things together.

Chucked mine in for a service with Fixation, having new rubbers and the port covers is a minor thing that pleases me. Desert heat, sweat and suncream destroyed them over the last 6 months

Some photos.

some cracking images there, just goes to show you what a great camera the 750 is, even today.

Thank you, it still does everything I want it to do and I realy enjoyed being able to flex some creative muscles using it!

I am toying with downsizing as lugging some of the gear on a few hikes was knackering; but I am also toying with the idea of remaining with it for a while and buying a smaller pocket camera for walks etc

I feel like the last one using a D750 on here, but I bought a 58mm before Christmas and it’s bloody fantastic!
Although a Z8 is my main camera, the D750 gets lots of use around this time of year because it works perfectly with the flash and the Z8 doesn't instead really struggling to get AF lock at all indoors in low light. I've been trying a number of Z8 solutions but when the D750 works perfectly it's just easier to go with it and doesn't really lose much to the Z8 for this use. The only issue my D750 is damaged from a drop and it's mostly fine except the viewfinder data is missing and occasionally the shutter malfunctions, it's annoying but makes it more difficult to justify buying another one.

I took am still using my D750 as a second body when I have to shoot with both the 24-70 and 70-200 but am looking at getting another mirrorless body to change the D750, the EVF on the mirrorless makes it easier for me to shoot.

I always loved my D750, a very capable camera indeed. I don't think cameras have moved on much in terms of image quality over the past 10+ years, as you say the D750 can still hold it's own against the latest and greatest. Obviously cameras have moved on in other areas, but if all you're interested in is the final image quality then cameras like the D750 are just as good as anything else.

I saw that. If you want a bargain then D500s seem to have dropped to £700 for a half decent one.
