Did a wee bit of fly tying today, and used that for an opportunity to try and do a bit of close up on small subjects.
Hen pheasant spider.
I tied a few of these today, used a vintage hook from a purchase I made a couple of years ago, so I don't know what it is.
Size 14 or 12 its hard to tell, but it has a slightly longer shank, but on the box it said wide gape.
Thread, not fly tying thread but it lies flat and I like it
Silver wire rib and hen pheasant hackle.
Not what I intended to tie today, but had a nice time just doing this.
Made a few and they are in my box for next season.
Just to prop up my reputation as the local nutter today I made a Homebrew Ham radio antenna and stuck it on my roof ( It is tied back to keep it safe) As my roofing material is slate which contains a number of metals the theory was I should get a better signal if I get the Antenna outside and just above the roof line. Unfortunately I have high ground around me which makes getting signals out at VHF/UHF a bit difficult but just getting this outside has made a huge difference. It called a flower pot Antenna ( A bit strange I know) Now the locals can look up and ask each other whats that nutter up to again !
One of our two cats this one is Rincewind, I borrowed his name Totally relaxed in the secure knowledge that he is colour co-ordinated in his choice of sleeping place, my wifes chair !
Was supposed to be out with my brother, but that fell through, then I was going to have a wander, but life got in the way so that went out the window. Managed to get these going to the local shop for bread.
