Returning to the fold.

There was a guy who left after some sort of disagreement but sadly I forget his name. I think he mostly took bird and some landscape picture. Sorry about being so vague. He's the one who sticks in my mind.

On the general subject or people not posting. If people just move on or get too busy that's one thing but I do think it's a shame when people feel they can no longer post. I think moderation and the general posting public should be aware that people can be effectively forced out and I do think that's a shame, if it happens.

And then there was a total prat who caused all manner of fights. An older chap who seemed to just disagree with anyone over everything and anything- he was a riot...
Dare I say there are still one or two of those souls still around Gary! They keep the Mods busy.

Gary/Xynamic - I still follow him on Instagram.

I think GF Williams used to be on here when he was a young kid learning photography, now he's a very good automotive photographer.

I miss Byker21 who seemed to have his head screwed on sensibly, and there was a guy that I *think* used to work for the forestry people. I also wish Sir SR had remained a bit longer - Shaheed's portraits were always so good.

One or two have moved on, whose departure I don't mourn and I won't name.

Brash and Fracster were amusing to watch, but likely a nightmare for the mods at the time.

There was a guy who did some fantastic wedding work and was shooting a lot of film, but started using Polaroid and super 8 - the more crap the better - who eventually got the hump and left. His digital work was so good, but the other stuff wasn't going to get much love.

Ah, I think the college lecturer? I think he fell out with me when I replied to his assertion that you can't print files from a Canon 5D. My opinion being that clearly you can, the only questions are at what size and resolution. I dread to think how he spoke to his students.

The guy who was an ex-military photographer, quite a few jaw dropping repiles, can't remember his name :-(

D

Arc
Arr
Arcadia......no, something like that, god my memory is garbage.
????

He came back for a while in the film section, different name but instantly recognisable

Who was that that used to shoot scapes from a paraglider, Himupnorth ??
Beautiful pictures
Was that Hugh Miller (don't remember username)?

also should mention Rob Mank -awesome newborn photographer

And the only mod I ever met, lovely lady w blonde curly hair, I think she stepped down due to health issues

Who was the chap who would give like a 2000 word response on topics? They were well written, but I don’t think I ever got to the end of one. He might still be a member, I don’t know, but I’ve not seen any posts that long in a while so he’s either left or learned the art of brevity.

Was there someone who posted long replies with a name or nickname along the lines of Teflon Mike or something like that?

Remember fraser white?
He caused a few debates on here.....

Still here, much quieter, suffered a massive stroke in 2021, very uncontroversial now from my wheelchair (y)

See here: https://www.talkphotography.co.uk/t...-a-stroke-and-how-well-they-recovered.763499/

Life changing events give you a different perspective on everything.

I had some of my cameras stolen (Rolleiflex 3.5f & Nikon D4) whilst I was recovering; can only assume it was my Carers who regularly went upstairs whilst I couldn't :(

Oh-Kay.. this is a photography forum, so many folk will probably be more interested in the EXIF data of what lens, what shutter speed, etc etc... B-U-T I have to say, as a biker..... that's NOT the bit that's particularly interesting to me...Some of the bikes I can guess at what they are.. like the Matchless; big winged 'M' and gold painted casings are pretty big clues... but is that Ducatti an early 750SS or later 900? What are the others, and who was riding them?
Better captioning and titling needed.
This was Mikes post from that thread so yes I’d say same guy

Would that be Les Moxon?

Canon Bob.
He was such a good guy, amazingly generous and genuine and knew his stuff. It would be good to see him back again.
And, there were a couple of female mods - one called Carol, the other had a two-word name, black hair I think. I met Carol at a workshop run by CJNicolai in Brighton. They were both lovely people.
