weekly RyanB's 52 for 2024 Week 45 Snappers Choice

Great pictures but … Not sure that I want to look that closely at these insects……..

Amazing shots! It was nice of them to show off the piggyback for you :ROFLMAO:
All really well captured, I'd be chuffed with any of those for this week!

Great macro shots!
Thanks Paul!
Weather - Nicely done, I fell behind a the challenge bit and this was one of the stand-out shots when I was scrolling through the pages of photos I hadn't seen.
Critters - Great shots, first one takes the biscuit. These put my efforts in the shade, what did you use to take it? And before you say it, yes, I know "a camera".
Cheers Nick, both the damsel and wasps(?) were shot with a camera ;) ( Canon 5d mkiii) and a Sigma 150mm macro lens with a Raynox DCR-250 but consisted of a stack of around 25 layers for the wasp and around 10 for the damsel. The grasshopper was a single shot with the bare macro lens. All with natural grey British cloudy afternoon light (my favourite for insect togging as it stops glare from shiny insect surfaces).
Critter porn! :exit:

Nicely shot :)
Oh yeah.... Thanks Dave!

Thanks Alan! Watching this kind of activity isn't for everyone...;)

Many thanks Megan, they were very obliging.:ROFLMAO:
That first critter shot is unbelievable!!
Thanks Ross!

Arches - I prefer your second shot. If it wasn't for the fence on the right, it could some long forgotten jungle temple.

Weather's a great shot. Funny thing about those sudden drops in pressure. Happened to my wife when I was shooting a rainbow in the back garden - which was also the result of a micro climate.

Critters - They're all great, but the first one is the stand out.

Superb close ups!
Fabulous macro shots. Most envious!
That's a yes from me. Through to the next round!!
Thanks for looking everyone! :)

A very good set!
Those are great shots. Well done!
Nice idea - I think I prefer the images when they're singular.

My favourite of the set is the peapod.
Great set of images. I'm voting for the pea pod too.
Nice work. All great shots.
Great set of veg, must looks at light boards again
Thanks all! I did like the pea pod too and it did take some very careful scalpel work but thought the corn was a bit more interesting as a macro abstract.

Fab shot Ryan :)

Nice one, don’t know how difficult it would be but removing the line between the table/base and the background might improve it even further

Very good image indeed.
Thanks Bob!

Cheers Keith, I did have an edit like that but thought the line anchored the image so it felt less floaty in all that white.
I looked at it again tonight and now I'm not so sure.

Still sticking with flowers this week, I've been fixing an old 80's MF macro lens which had hazy elements and a sticky aperture and thought I would test it out on the poppies while they are still around. Although it cleaned up great its not a great lens by modern standards but I kinda like how its rendered these.
