Week 43 - Rough

Not a great deal of opportunity this week, so a rough and ready (sorry) opportunistic shot to try and meet the theme. And before anyone suggests, I dod do a couple of mono conversions, but I think colour does it better justice.

Week 44 - Night

Currently away in Devon on a family holiday. Quick shot to meet the theme. A couple of views across the river Torridge right opposite where we’re staying towards Bideford. First one at dusk gives a little context, second one once it got darker.

Week 45 - Snapper's Choice

Just managed to get this just after the start of this week's theme timescale. Taken last Thursday afternoon on our last day in Devon, when for once in the week, the sun actually made an appearance.

This is a view down the river Torridge towards Bideford, taken from the shorefront at Appledore.

Thanks Paul. It was ok actually - a bit seaweedy. But bloody freezing! We’d been about 10 miles further south at Hartland and it was literally shorts and t shirts weather - the car read 23° when we got in. 20 mins later at Appledore it was full on coats, hats and a quick 10 min before we got back in the car!

There’s quite a tidal range there!

Indeed! Not quite as high as back home near Cardiff, but big nonetheless!

Thanks Ryan. I did try pointing the camera straight down from the pier, but these patterns weren’t there that close to the structure.

Week 47 - Ancient

Cold Knap near Barry Island, was once a Roman port and near the shore there are the remains of a late 3rd century AD Roman 'mansio' (a guesthouse for travellers), with 22 small rooms arranged around an open courtyard. That should tick the "ancient" box

Legally 10 metres behind where I shot this photo, is the long curve of the pebble foreshore of Cold Knap (old shot at the bottom of this post)
