Yes
has anyone used simply electronics recently?

i researched about them a bit
and they seem to have had some problems with deliveries taking long a little while ago

but on amazon marketplace, they have LOADS of feedback, 94% positive feedback
and it looks as though 100 odd satisfied feedback a day, with only 1 or 2 saying they took long to deliver, thats about it

they seem to have very good deals on some lenses
cheaper than any on camerapricebuster for some specific lenses

so just wondering if anyone has used them or has any experiences to share?

I bought a Sony T300 from them over a year ago and it arrived pretty quickly and with no hassle. I ordered it one week before I went on my travels and it arrived a day or two before I left.

I have heard some bad reviews about them though. You could always try phoning them first.

You could always try phoning them first.

If you try phoning them be prepared for a long time on hold. I think for a Hong Kong company to make so much effort to appear to be based in your country of origin.(Isle of Wight in the UK, if you visit them from a US based internet connection they appear to be in California) speaks volumes about the amount of lies and deception that goes on with this company.

No I wasn't happy with them. Also ask yourself why a company this big uses paypal or google checkout and doesn't have a legitimate merchant account

the products are cheap enough and buying from them is easy
i bought a 1Ds mk111 from them a year ago and it arrived very quickly and all ok
however it failed and had to be sent back (to hong kong i imagine)
it took weeks to get a replacement and the phone lines never worked
not good when you are risking thousands of pounds
so they are great at selling direct and cheaply but sadly lacking in the customer service side of thing

I have no real experience of them, but i do know that whenever a link to their site shows up on google, my MacAfee siteminder software displays a warning about the site as being unsafe! That itself has put me off of using them

Ordered two lenses from them back in the spring. Money taken instantly, then it was a nightmare. No sign of the items after three weeks, no response to emails, no answer on the phone.

When we finally got through to someone, we were either cut off mid-flow, or told there was no record of the order.

Eventually, we went through the credit card company who recovered all our money, for which we were eternally thankful.

Personally, wouldn't touch with a barge pole. It seems that if everything goes smoothly, then you're OK. If there's a problem though, it is likely to be a headache.

As Flash In The Pan suggested - do a forum search on them to find the other "tales of woe".

Same story here... DO NOT USE

no way. I genuinely thought they were based in the Isle of Wight. I have had 3 deliveries off them. One of them ended up being discounted to free delivery, the other 2 orders had free delivery anyway. They took the money and goods were here within 2 days. I could not complain and am about to go back to them. But maybe now I will have second thoughts. Ugh, such a headache trying to get a good deal on expensive gear

I guess there are loads of tales of woe and yes they are a risk, but I know they also have many satisfied customers and one guy I know uses them regularly without any issues. I guess it's like a lot of places, shops, insurance companies, tradesman, it's all ok until their is a prolem and then you really see what they are like.

There's a thread of 81 pages on AV forums - if you buy from this company and manage to get any kit delivered it will have NO warranty, they are a US company trading through a Virtual office in the IOW - there address used to be a private house on a estate in Nottingham

According to their internet records, they are registered in kowloon, HK
I would be very wary of them

Ihave used them - no problems and no problems with equipment - got a 300 2.8 from them - tracked from HK - in UK within 48 hours and then sat in a UK Parcel Force warehouse for 72 hours waiting to be delivered over the weekend.

Apart from the delay at the UK end - no issues with them

if everything goes right they seem OK - but its the lies, long delays and lack of communication when things go even a little wrong and the billing for items not in stock
