Takes on a path (July Challenge)

I really can't get this to look how i want.
But here it is, a stone bolder path through a bog garden at home (i say home, i live on site, in service as a gardener)

Perhaps a bit of gardening?


:) Sorry I couldn't resist, how do you want it to look? My feeling is the light needs to be much lower but i am guessing that it is in shadow at sunrise/sunset?
 
The trouble is, it's pretty much surrounded on three sides by woods. The light does shine through at sunrise, but only in the autumn. I just couldn't really get the pathway through to show up (stand out). Either side of the path is ponds. I just don't think it works in 2D.

Isn't that so often the case, I see loads of great looking features, trees, rocks etc. but just cant capture the feeling of them photographically. Still it's a path and I like the light through the gunnera leaves on the right
 
@molly - the out-doors, more general themes such as cycling and paths do seem more popular, perhaps we need to revisit the initial list
