TalkPhotography Fantasy Football League(s) 23/24

Salah as captain contributed the least points. I will have him in my office and make it clear that I expect more from him next time.
 
I was just looking at the H2H league, and after realising that I am going to get beaten by a probably more than double points against Klopp Klopp Boom, (55-112 atm), I also noticed that despite a lot of players having a double game week, King Kangaroo and horspath hounds are drawing 21-21! How is it even possible to score so few points with so many points on offer, the next lowest scorer has 48! :oops: :$ :LOL:
 
I finished up with 143 and more than halved my overall rank although City may well eat into that a bit. Currently sorting a WC team for the last few game weeks.
 
At the top of the league, Klopp Klopp Boom(121) extended their lead to 86 points, after having a very good week. Amber Army983) move back into 2nd, 1 point ahead of Medway United(80).

Woodys Wonders(106) move up into 4th, now 17 points behind Medway United, and 5 points ahead of Onana what's my name(88), who drop to 5th.

The highest point scorer of the week was Biggin Bangers with 127.

The average point score for the week was 76.

There is an early game on Saturday, so the deadline for making changes is Sat 27th Apr @11:00.

In the Head2Head league, leader Klopp Klopp Boom beat me 121-76, :oops: :$ and extended their lead at the top to 11 points. That was because 2nd placed Onana what's my name lost their H2H against Hardly Athletic 88-115.

3rd placed Banished to Riyadh won their match up with Tarric's Tot's 81-60, and are now 2 points behind Onana what's my name.

4th placed Medway United lost their H2H with Woodys Wonders 72-106, and are now 4 points behind Banished to Riyadh, and joined on 57 points by Woodys Wonders, and Dorchtog, who beat New Oak Utd 97-74.

I've used the wildcard this gw. It should give me an effective two extra gws taking into account the double gws and using bench boost in gw37. Hopefully I can keep the momentum going to get under 300k. But nothing can be taken for granted this season.

I've only just realised that I haven't used the triple captain chip. It only leaves next gw and the last one as options as I've loaded the bench for the BB in gw37.

Same plan (but triple Chelsea wasn't great in their first game, including captain Palmer). Currently sat at 75k so hoping for top 50k finish, but equally likely to be outside top 100k

Yes, me too. Planning the dgw options wasn't easy as Spurs haven't got the best fixtures and Chelsea are unpredictable. I have money to move Matata to Haaland before the dgw 37.

I wish I was in your position. I lost a lot of ground in the last 2 months, but have recovered from 700k to 250k in the last 2 gws.

Leader Klopp Klopp Boom(71) extend their lead at the top of the 95 points ahead of Amber Army(62).

Woodys Wonders(76) move up a position to 3rd, four points behind Amber Army, and three point above Onana what's my name(82), who move up a place to 4th. Medway United drop to 5th, just one point behind.

Positions 2-5 are covered by just eight points! :oops: :$ There could be some movements over the last few games, especially with some teams having a double gameweek next week. ;) Klopp Klopp Boom look pretty safe, but you never know. ;) :LOL:

The highest scorer of the week was Onana what's my name with 82.

The average point score for the week was 52.

As Clive mentioned above, the deadline for making changes is today, Fri 3rd May @18:30, because there is a game tonight between Luton and Everton.

In the Head2Head league, leader Klopp Klopp Boom maintain their 11 point lead after beating Penfold's Dangermice 71-60, and 2nd placed Onana what's my name also winning their H2H with Tarric's Tot's 78-75.

Banished to Riyadh stay in 3rd, two points behind, after winning against Biggin Bangers 72-66.

Though Medway United won their H2H with WIRE TOWN 55-43, and stay four points behind Banished to Riyadh, they drop a place to 5th, as Woodys Wonders move up to 4th on equal points, but ahead on accumulated total game points points.

Woodys Wonders go H2H with Banished to Riyadh this week, so a chance for them to get within one point.

My mistake. It should be 6:30pm. We are an hour ahead of you.

Best of luck for the run in. I'm currently on 2144 points with Haaland carrying the triple captain responsibility this gw and everybody playing in dgw37 with the bench boost.

That would be 2nd in our league, you're obviously one to keep an eye on next season!
 
I've thought about not bothering next season. Its so bl**dy complicated these days with world cups and other international competitions in the middle of the season, mid season breaks and all that parlava. Plus the squads are so much bigger entailing more rotation and the dreaded 2 minute cameos. I honestly think that FIFA & EUAFA don't care about our FPL problems.
 
I completely forgot about the triple captain chip until last week. I already had plans for the wildcard, bench boost and free hit chips in the double gameweeks so randomly used the tc on Haaland this week to use it up :cool:
 
I hope Bruno is missing from the man U team, I've got 16 point Jackson waiting to come off bench.....
 
Just had a look at the Man Utd line up for tonight, and was struck by their bench, as I only recognise 3 of the 9! :oops: :$ What have they done with all that money they have spent!

They must be down to bare bones to put two keepers on the bench.

ETH had two keepers on the bench in one of the earlier games. No left back on the pitch or in the subs, but two goalies warming the bench.

I have Bruno and Maguire on the bench along with Schär. Looks like I'm going to need a couple of transfers for the dgw if I want all 15 to have two goes.
 
It's slim pickings defender wise, I think I'll be at 14 doublers plus Gabriel and leave it at that
 
Yes, I agree. I will probably swap Schär for Livramento and then am undecided whether to double up on BHA defence, 4 point hit for 2 match return or get an Everton defender in versus Sheff Utd. The problem with the latter is that I'll need to shift him out for the last game as they face Arsenal. I'm swayed towards Veltman at the moment.

Finished up with 127 for 2,271 and 149k overall rank. I was 746k five weeks ago. My luck really has changed after some stupid mistakes early on :D

I have a fair chance of beating my best score of 2,426 and 243k overall rank of two years ago.

Highest point scorer for the week was Klopp Klopp Boom with 109 points. :clap:

The average point score for the week was 71.

There is no Friday hame this wee, so the deadline for making changes is Sat 11th May @11:00.

I'm usually consistent in the overall, but it's the first time I've done well in the H2H. Very happy with that.

Thanks, but it wasn't deserved. I had forgotten about thd tc chip and only had two gws when I could use it as I had plans to use my other chips before the season ended. I stuck the tc on Haaland and watched the match in an Irish bar in northern Spain. There was only the BIL & me watching the match. Everybody else was watching an Irish rugby game. Haaland got four goals and three bonus points which is more than I would have got on any player in the double gws.

Total fluke got me 63 points so I'm riding my luck and have done three transfers this gw to have all 15 playing twice.

What was your best season and why won't you equal it?

There's always an element of luck


I'm just being realistic, 1463 would take some beating, especially as it seems to get harder to do well (rank) each year.
 
Looks like a blue, black and white week. They are the only three shirt colours in my 15 and spookily repeated in FPL Scout's picks too, although the personnel differ slightly. I need 156 in the last two gws to beat my pb of two years ago :help:

That's entirely do-able seeing as the last 2 game weeks contain 3 weeks worth of games if you selected well, which I'm confident you have. So an average of 52 points per gameweek is a fairly low target. I'm sure you'll do it

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I'm not so sure. With one round of the dgw played I'm on (edited) 61 minus 8 = 53 and they all have harder games next time and some might not play. Then in gw 38 only half the team have easy fixtures and historically strange things happen in the last gw. Will Brighton be on the beach? Can the Blades cut through the Spurs defence? I can only hope that West Ham's bubble has burst and they get hammered.

Whatever, I'm in a lot healthier place than five weeks ago.

Klopp Klopp Boom(128) have virtually won the TalkPhotography FFL 23/24, having now a 93 point lead ahead of Onana what's my name(142) with one gameweek to go. One more week to confirm the TalkPhotography double. ;) :LOL:

Woodys Wonders(119) move up into 3rd place. Amber Army(92) drop to 4th, and Banished to Riyadh(123) move up to 5th.

Onana what's my name were the highest scorer with 142 points.

The average point score for the week was 83.

As is tradition, all the final games are on at the same time, and the deadline for making changes is Sun 19th May @14:30.

In the TP Head2Head league, we already knew Klopp Klopp Boom had won it, :clap: but the top 3 were also now sorted too;

GG to all those who made top 5 in either league, I had such a poor season ... will I learn [not to make so many transfers on the go!] next time out? I doubt it :ROFLMAO: But I'll always give it a go (y)

As ever, big up to @redhed17 for the dedication to this every season, it's a lot of work and often goes unnoticed by participants who don't tend to get involved in the chat/banter up in here
