The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

p.s. I have no idea about kit and split, I don't buy bodies with lenses as a kit so no idea but for the body, I doubt it makes much difference but it might for the lenses that comes in a kit.

Mmmm WEX are doing a £300 trade in bonus on the A9 at the moment that and a little bit of discount they always give me, I could pretty much trade in one of my A7III's and it would work out not much more than selling one of my A7III's privately and buying grey.

Get it bought chap....... the Sony A9 is properly good. The A7 III is also a great value body but ultimately the A9 / A9 II are probably the best mirrorless bodies out there if you can live with 24mp ;)

Yeah I know I already have an A9.

As I always use at least 2 bodies at the same time another A9 might be a better option.

Just having a think, if I buy grey I can get the A9 from Panamoz with the 3 year warranty which is also a bit of an advantage, where as if I buy U,K i can add it to my Pro support.

I'm currently looking at the Tokina f2, it's a bad idea and I don't need one.

Nice Riz, what are the dims of the room?

Cheers dude, yeah I originally was going to stick with a blue LED theme like the Dolby Cinema's found in select Odeon LUXE theatres.
I think I have reach the upper limits on LED lighting front, any more may induce a fit before a movie even started lol :D
I have it all automated using a combination of Hue lights, Zigbee adaptors, EVE sensors and Plugs etc. It is also tied into Apple HomeKit. :D

So the EVE sensor near the door triggers all the LED lighting to turn on, the I have it set so after 5 minutes they automatically turn off.
Or I can ask Siri to turn off the Home Cinema lights or use the iOS app.
I haven't got around to programming the Logitech remote, as that can control the lights based on command, e.g. if I press play the lights could also turn off, stop and the lights can turn on etc. :D

Thanks but the dimensions of the room? Thinking of doing something similar as I have unused space :)

Interesting, my unused space is approx. 4.5m w x 14m l. This could be fun. :naughty:
That's a very good space to work with. You could go down the projector route with two rows of seats etc. All comes down to your budget really.
I spent quite a long of time deciding on the setup and working things like how to get normal LED light strips talking to my Hue system etc. In the end I wanted a Dolby Vison and Atmos setup.

Here is an example of a projector setup, this was my old system in a pretty square room.

I went for projector set up in the end. Its functional but I can't move forward with it until q1 next year as having to have some repair work done to the house. I doubt it'll be as impressive as your though!

Lovely mate, your attention to detail is top notch. I also go a bit overboard with my projects (y)

I know @dancook also loves a project.

My first movie setup as on my PC in my bedroom! 19" Sony FD Monitor (Brick), Creative SoundWorks 5.1 Surround Sound Kit, Creative DXR2 DVD decoder and DVD-ROM drive.
You have to start somewhere and then built upwards if required. :)
A good movie will always remain a good movie no matter what it's watched on...... :)

Cheers chap.
It's the perks which breaks up the normality of life sometimes... I have a lovely wife and two awesome kids, they take nearly all my time up along with work. So having very little time these days..... it's nice to kick back and watch a movie :D

Toni, are you getting the 18mm f2.8?

Going to wait & see if there's any black friday offers, otherwise it will be a Canon mount Sigma 12-24 and an MC11 (that's the sensible choice for flexibility - the Sammy is a bit heart over head because I like the idea of a tiny light lens that will go easily in the bag).
