I'm sorry to hear this Dave.Might see some of you around as I have asked for my account to be deleted, I will use other forums now so thanks for the great times in this Sony thread.
Sorry to hear this, I hope you come back soon. All the bestMight see some of you around as I have asked for my account to be deleted, I will use other forums now so thanks for the great times in this Sony thread.
Sadly no, back home and on my laptop, even the 70-200mm shots I thought were OK are disappointingly soft, not sure any used with the TC are usable. Strange as I've not had issues beforeI'm at Castle Combe today and the heat haze is ridiculous at longer distances (400mm+). Most probably just that.....maybe.

I hope you stay.
It's one corner of this site and a limited number of posters who've been involved in ill considered comments and it seems a shame to leave because of that. You are and will I'm sure remain very welcome and valued in this thread and others.
Some people here know my circumstances and this site helps me a lot and I'm pretty certain that most of the time you also get a lot from this place too.
So stick around!
I am staying just going to have a rest up then start again with the Sony.
No need to rest. Just post here, there and wherever and forget that other incident.
Hah Great minds as I was thinking of using the cameras in my signature now the Olly has gone to my mate to test out.

So I will just carry on using the forum, but have a good rest from the other thread.
Thats great news, looking forward to more of your street photography.I am staying just going to have a rest up then start again with the Sony.

Someone posted on a Farcebook wild camping group the other day about people being rude/arrogant etc I replied, "Just block them" That's why these things are in place. If there's someone on here (or anywhere else for that matter) that you aren't keen on or you feel they keep nagging/digging at you or you simply don't like their attitude or opinions then just block/ignore them and carry on smiling
I don't have anyone on ignore. But I've came close a few times
That's just what I have done using the ignore button, great little thing to have lol
After having more of a look through my photos I honestly don't know what it is, some shots look OK but many don't. I feel as though subject distance is the key to it, whether it's just IQ that suffers or whether AF isn't great getting close to infinity focus I don't know. I'll do some tests and if I'm not happy I'll send it in to have it checkedI have not read about any comments, but could the TC be faulty maybe the contacts need a clean ?
Thanks, much appreciated.Like this one Toby, love how low he is and for some reason I think the red in the BG helps make it great.
i. am getting the same Lately with the 200-600 sure its just heat haze and atmospherics ,After having more of a look through my photos I honestly don't know what it is, some shots look OK but many don't. I'm glad you've decided to stick around
Thanks very muchWoWza.
That one should get you a nice rosette
I’m just at Silverstone for the Moto GP and a large number of shots taken with the 100-400mm GM using the 1.4x TC are very soft to the point of looking out of focus. They are more the ones taken at distance, maybe 50m or so, and whilst I know this is where TC’s are weak I’ve never known it to be this bad. I thought initially it might be atmospheric conditions as it’s very warm, but I tried without the TC and cropped and they’re much sharper. Shutter speed is not an issue as these were 1/1000.
Anyone know what the problem is? Is it purely that I’m shooting at distance? If it is I can’t believe they’re this bad
Were you using the lens hood by any chance?I'm at Castle Combe today and the heat haze is ridiculous at longer distances (400mm+). Most probably just that.....maybe.
Wow, that's Odd. I always use the lens hood and would never have considered it an issueWere you using the lens hood by any chance?
I had the same problem with my 200-600.
Watched a YouTube video but can't for the life of me remember which one, that mentioned a little heat gets generated by the lens and builds up inside the lens hood and can't escape.
I tried shooting without the hood and the problem disappeared.
As it's a bit quiet.
Bluebells in the pouring rain. A7 and a Takumar 35mm f3.5.
Same camera, same lens, same day, still raining.
and a crop.
I use the viewfinder 99.9% of the time, feels my comfortable and of course more sturdy that way.I found out today using the A7 III + 45mm Sammy it is NOT the weight. It is how I have been using it so total user error on my part, as in my jazz shots I only use the screen for shooting, so I tried both the screen and the eye today and nailed some of my shots. Plus My mate returned the OMD and said it was crap. Sadly he has massive hands lol Might use it again soon but today for me it's 10000% day.
