The TP 52 - 2025 The Sign-Up and Chat thread - Week 8 Street Signs & Symbols

Struggling this week, not had any decent weather at all! Might have to make an artificial sun
 
I seem to have an uncanny knack of picking themes for which the weather decides Nah!
I'll go with a different thought process this week...

With all the recent greyness and damp, I've been limited to looking at the countryside looking Through a Window
 
Well well - here we are waiting at Lisbon Airport to fly back to Manchester this afternoon. Unless it’s a Hercules there may be a window shot :naughty: :banana::naughty:

They got rid of the Window tax years ago. You can't have too many windows.
Besides which, my life this week has been totally mucked about by that sodding Windows software crashing my work laptop! I have Windows on the brain now.
 
Once again, start with no inspiration but go looking and then find something. The vast majority of weeks, the final shot is not the intended one.
 
windows, shop windows/reflections. car windows, public transport through a window (I saw one that looked like it was from a tram/train ... which I tried but didnt succeed in taking). Worst case, window at home/apt looking out or in....
maybe church with stained glass..?
light would be coming through the window...
 
Here we are again, and I start looking through the list of themes for an inspiration or bit of devilment... I wonder what I'll find...
 
What about another impossible theme like palm trees or coconuts. :)
 
@Barney You are tempting me...fortunately for others, those are not in the list we created late last year! So instead, I thought we'd go for something accessible that demands an artistic consideration to make it more than a bland documentary shot: Street Signs & Symbols
 
Aha! A shot I’ve had in mind for a yonk or three! This is the perfect excuse to get it :naughty: :banana::naughty:

and folks should bear in mind that there are only another 8 days to get your Tech shot (wide angle) in. I can't promise that next week's topic will be any more friendly to wide lenses that this one, as I have no idea what it may be

Hemel or Swindon? Those are the two I know. Unless you mean a virtual one courtesy of the magic substance inhaled by Dougal?

I used to work in a tower block next to the Hemel one (I'm sure a few forum members will know the firm) - that roundabout was a source of constant entertainment.
 
I didn't know there was one in Cardiff, but good luck with it!

Oh well... Signpost it is. I have an idea - not sure I'll be able to pull it off safely though... I may have to practice subs compositing / double exposure skills!
 
I got my shot today! And not the one I mentioned that I'd been waiting for. Looking at the list there are several opportinities that may fit that one.
