Been out of work since March, this last week I've been super-productive and developed a new website

http://usedlens.co.uk/

It rose from a personal need, whenever I look for used Leica lenses (other brands are available) it takes a while to find all the websites they're listed on and look through them, and then if you're checking on a daily basis that time adds up.

So I thought I'd put all that information in one place, keep it updated and make it quickly searchable.

I'm still working on it and will add more retailers to the other brands soon!

I suspect it will become pretty useful for other photographers here, and if you have any feedback let me know!
 
This is really great Dan, I find myself doing the same thing trawling through loads of websites for the best deal which can take a long time.

The fact that it’s MPB on there at the moment is also great as you’ve managed to make it so I can search MPB far faster than using their own website :LOL:

Just a suggestion! It would be useful if it displayed condition. i.e. Excellent, etc

It would be nice to have that information and if I can in the future i will consider adding it! thanks
 
I'm new to photography, and I wish that was around when I was searching for gear, awesome job, brilliant.
 
Is it just my iPad but when I click the black menu (? ) Icon top right, nothing happens. Does it have a function ?

apart from that, it looks like a great job (y)(y)

ah thanks that's the 'menu' there must be a bit of code to display on mobile devices, it's currently unused.

Works really well - quick & clean. One suggestion would be to have a check box allowing selection of camera body, lens, adapter etc as well as displaying everything.

Great job - I hope it becomes successful for you.

I’ll first need to monetise it! Hopefully get some affiliate approvals this week.

I will see what I can do because at the moment I don’t have actual product feeds with good categorisation.

Dan hi, I just did a search for xc after selecting Fuji and if came up with London Camera Exchange, there's an xc in their name but I was looking for xc type lenses, think it needs a bit of refinement there so it only searches specific columns?
 
Oh and next feature will be allow subscription to a search result to have emails daily with results

Yes I suppose searching the retailer isn’t particularly useful and I could probably exclude that. Thanks

Excellent resource for me. Terrible for my wallet.

Love the clean interface. Love the speed. Love the search function.

Am I missing an easy way to filter M mount vs LTM with lenses?

I believe so, but I'm not an expert. Just want to search and include only M mount lenses. There's an R mount too and an S I believe.
I think there are quite a few folk that will adapt old lenses onto digital cameras so whilst the native cameras were film, there are still digital users.

That’s great thanks, and of there are any retailers o should be aware of let me know.

I will be adding WEX this coming week, hoping to get a product feed instead of scraping the site

I don't know if you have that big Nikon place in London (can't think of what it's called now), and ffordes...

Changed the search to ignore price and retailer columns now!

Apologies if you already have them - I did check the "retailers we search" banner... Some are film centric but they have lenses that work on digital too (Leica M & LTM, Pentax 645, Hassleblad, Nikon & Canon). You can see how long my "2nd hand lens search" list is :)

Hope you get some affiliate links in there as this is a great idea.

Wow, you're really on to something there. I hope you can find a way to make it pay for you as it looks like a great resource that I think could become very popular. It would certainly be the first place I visited. (y)
 
Another suggestion perhaprs for us, out of UKers....a column depiciting whether or not the store ships outside of UK :)
