I am thinking of hanging photos (medium size) in wet areas such as bathroom/kitchen etc. and would like to know what options are there regarding presentation type and any links to companies specialising in printing a waterproof format.
Any suggestions ?
John

Use a pigment printer such as the Pixma Pro9500 instead of a dye based printer (almost every other cheaper printer!) and it will give you prints that won't be affected by water. Make sure not to print onto paper which will take on water though, as some of the more porous thick papers will turn into sponges!

Dye Sub prints have a good resistance to water, as they are laminated.

Thanks Guys,
Laminating does sound to be the cheapest option, and this could be mounted in a water resistant frame. I'm not sure about the clarity of the laminating plastic though.....more research needed I think!

Why not consider acrylic or print on aluminium?

Hi Haggis,
Yes just read about acrylic ...could be the answer.
Thanks

There is both lamination and encapsulation - the former puts a very clear layer of plastic over the print - encapulation puts a the print in a plastic envelope with both sides coated - and the edges are sealed too - and if you look at a frame thats made of Emyfil (a plastic) you could have it in a swimming pool.....
