What prompts you to comment/offer feedback

I leave a lot of feedback in the crit sections but I would leave more if posters put one or two pictures on rather than loads.
 
I don't visit them. Most people aren't asking for a critique, they're asking to be told their work is good.

All of those forums should be renamed to "tell me what's crap about this picture", and you'd see skill levels improve globally.
 
For me to comment it has to be a subject that holds interest for me, so natural history, landscape tend to be where i dwell. After that sometimes its the title that interests me to look, i very rarely offer critique not skilled enough, my contributions mainly center on subject ID.

I also try to add something to a new members first posts, by way of a welcome.
