Week 44 - Night and Tech - Flash

I have long wanted to try this "floating orb" technique, so the theme was perfect for that. Sadly my execution was not perfect, but that's life. And a flash was definitely the right thing to illuminate the plants - sadly I forgot not to point the flash indicator light towards the camera, so that was a bit of extra cloning required. Good fun though.

Snappers choice, autumnal colours are nice. The grey skies everywhere are making it so difficult to get any character so a bit of mist helps a lot here
 
It's been a tough week for Togs with the anticyclonic gloom. Can't beat a nice canal shot though.

I only realised today how the miserable weather had affected me; I went out today, the sun shone, and I took photos!

Week 47 - Ancient

OK, I think this one will need some explanation.

We are looking at the flooded excavations carried out by a local archaeology group on some buildings, which I believe are the remains of a ancient Holy Well associated with a Manor House (also gone).

If you look carefully, you can just about make out some stone structure below the water. Of course, that would be easier if the hole was dry, but some pillock stuck a canal past the site 250 years ago.

Nice, ancient works well for the theme but I'm loving your intricate shot. You've absolutely nailed the lighting there and really highlighted the interesting inner workings of a beautiful timepiece.

The canal bridges are all numbered. Bridge 109 is between 108 and 110.

When they have added bridges in over time, they have used letter suffixes. Also, some bridge have been abandoned, so the number has fallen out of use.
