A festering sore got septic, due to Basima's licking at night. It needed emergency treatment the vet decided. With anesthesia it was cleaned and stitched :

This was a 512 € morning ... Friday I must send a picture of the wound to the vet, and take Basima there, when deemed necessary ---
 
Hi, Basima recovering after her OP. I did not get much sleep last night, because I had to use the hard plastic collar she made noise with hitting the furniture.

But I could not use the soft collar, because she could work round it, or out of it. I can use it only during the day when I can kkep an eye on her.

To cover the leg wound, I ordered a body pajama from amazon, which will come on Monday. To bridge the gap, I shortened the sleeves of an old shirt, drew it over her body,
collar at the tail, and fastened it using the front elbow protectors.

I took her for a short walk, and everything seems fine ... :

Hi, Basima, recovering. The antibiotics were not strong enough. The liquid seeping out of the wound had a light yellow tinge.

The vet did not like the pics of the wound I sent her this morning. So, she gave me an additional charge of stronger pills and an appointment on Monday ... :

Hopefully stronger antibiotics will do the trick

Went to Richmond Park in the mist on Friday morning for a bout of photographing rutting deer and as my Nordic Walking instructor puts it 'Willy-waving' (ie who has the longest lens..)...

Favourite image of the morning? I wanted to run off with this beautiful border collie, so had to make do with this image instead.

Hi, greetings from Basima this foggy morning. All your good wishes have helped. :)

The wound has healed, and it is closed now. I disinfect it daily, and spray zinc balsam on it.

(The first antibiotics did not work, only the stronger ones. This is the first case of antibiotic resistant germs I have experienced.
So, one should have a wound checked after 3 days to be on the safe side.)

At night she must still wear the stiff collar, just in case ...
