weekly HelenC's 52 for 2024. Week 43-44 Rough & Night

Nice shot of a nice shot :)

A nice memento

Very personal. Nice idea for the theme.

That's a nice family keepsake there.

Texture: A lovely colourful shot, nicely composed.
Personal: There’s nothing as personal as family memories imo.

Great idea for personal!!

Lovely shot of your parents, pretty good for being stuck I'd say
Ta muchly for the kind comments folks.

Like the different colours from the fields, some nice silhouettes and good to see the young trees growing in the middle of the field.

That's a lovely shot and a nice subtle take on the theme Helen.
As Kell said, lovely use of thirds here

You always seem to capture something in your landscapes that I'm always unable to whenever I try.

I like the three distinct bands of colour here.
@Kell Thank you... lets just say that I take an awful lot..

Yes, good use of thirds. It's a very balanced image. Excellent work I must say.

Another lovely landscape Helen. The light is beautiful.

Thanks for the comments folks.

A catch up after being pretty much housebound for the last few weeks.
Feeling sheepish about lagging behind so went for a local walk...

Week 13: Unkempt

Obviously motherhood takes its toll. Mum is looking rather unkempt in the family portrait

Good catch up, she is looking a bit unkempt and think you've shown she has bit of character in the gob shot

Great gob shot Helen, complete with a bit of grass sticking out of the corner of it's mouth.

A good bit of catching up

Works for me although I'm not the biggest sheep fan. You did well as it's tilting it's head and looking straight at you.

The gob shot sheep definitely looks like it’s checking you out.

Good catch up.

Hope you’re feeling better.

Nicely caught up Helen!!

Great gobshot!

Ha ha thats a cracking gobshot, love it

Thanks guys. Back in the land of the living at last!

Well.... it's certainly been a week of April showers. Simple shot but the colour of the spring green on the trees against the purple sky caught my eye.

A nice shot of contrasts - right up my street.

But what happened to the sky? I guess it's some processing artifact.

Brooding sky with a bright background - my fave :)

Yeah - looks like a card write error at the top.

I love the contrast - the yellow stands out more than the green to me but it's no less striking.

Thats fab Helen - fields of rapeseed flowering are an absolute banger for a good image, especially with moody skies. I have a similar one somewhere

Makes you look twice. Very striking.

Terrific colours, well done

Great contrast and colours

As said, nice contrasty colours. Works a treat!!
Thanks for the kind comments and for stopping by.

This just about sums up the past week... a very empty landscape and field, mist, rain and a (somewhat over-processed) broody sky

Coat time again :( it’s not been bad in North Wales this week though, makes a big change

Very dramatic weather for the empty shot, looks a lot like the fens around my area. The landscapes never inspire me but the weather over them is sometimes amazing.

That certainly looks brooding - time I would reach for a coat
Perfect fit for the theme Helen

Nicely broody and the way the sky is split into two is curious.

Looks like the sky's about to empty too!

@RyanB I know what you mean... we have lots of flat agriculture but the sky makes up for the lack of interest in the landscape.

Thanks folks. And now we're basking in sunshine!

Popped over to good old Southwold - half an hour free parking meant a few quick long exposures. Luckily I know where to set up for the popular local structure.
